SPECIAL EDUCATION ALLOWANCES. B. 7.1. A Teacher who is teaching special education and who has a specialist certificate in special education obtained from the Ministry of Education for Ontario shall receive the Special Education Allowance, provided that the Teacher has not used any course or part of a course undertaken as a part of the specialist qualification to effect a category change. B.7.2. A Special Education Allowance shall be payable pursuant to B.7.1. The amount of this allowance shall be per year as listed in Appendix B-1. B.7.3. Notwithstanding B.7.1. and in recognition of certain exceptions established in previous collective agreements, a Teacher who was in receipt of a Special Education Allowance during the 1983-84 school year by virtue of a previous collective agreement shall continue to receive that allowance unless the Teacher should cease to teach special education or has resubmitted qualifications in order to improve the Teacher's category or to qualify for other allowances.

Related to SPECIAL EDUCATION ALLOWANCES

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Meal Allowances Employees assigned to be in travel status between the employee's temporary or permanent work station and a field assignment shall be reimbursed for the actual cost of meals including a reasonable gratuity. Employees must meet the following conditions to be eligible for meal reimbursement:

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.
