Special or Compassionate Leave. 23.3.1 The Employer may grant an employee a leave of absence with pay for not more than three (3) days in a year for special or compassionate purposes. 23.3.2 Notwithstanding subsection 23.3.1, a Deputy Minister may grant an employee a leave of absence with pay for six (6) months or less for special or compassionate purposes. 23.3.3 A leave of absence with pay may be granted for more than six (6) months upon the certificate of the Public Service Commission. 23.3.4 An employee granted a leave of absence pursuant to Article 23.3 shall accrue credits and be covered by benefit plans during such leave.
