Student Drivers. Student drivers shall be paid the applicable statutory minimum hourly rates for all hours worked. Student training period shall not exceed thirty (30) days (the thirty (30)-day period shall be defined to mean a maximum of fifteen (15) days driving training out of the thirty (30)-day period). Qualified trailer drivers shall be paid fifteen cents (15¢) per hour above the applicable statutory minimum hourly rates for all hours worked for a period not to exceed five (5) working days. Drivers who agree to train and instruct such student drivers shall receive five dollars ($5.00) additional pay per day or one dollar ($1.00) per trip, whichever is greater. The Employer may provide student driver training programs at any time, including periods of layoff or shutdowns. The student drivers shall be limited to loading, unloading, driving and/or riding with a driver-instructor and classroom instructors.
Student Drivers. Student drivers shall be paid at a rate no less than that established by the Federal Wage and Hour Law, for a maximum of two (2) weeks. Student training period is not to exceed fifteen (15) days. Drivers shall receive one (1) hours pay additional per day (24-hour period) or major fraction thereof for training and instructing such drivers. It is further agreed that such student drivers shall not be worked more than the maximum hourly requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT). Student drivers will be sent out with company drivers on company-owned equipment, and where there is no such company equipment, student drivers shall drive with driver-owners only by mutual agreement.
Student Drivers. Only students who have received parking passes may park on campus. Any student parking without permission will be towed. Students who have received permission to park on campus will only park in their assigned spot. They will also have their pass displayed in their vehicle where it is easily visible. If a student finds a car parked in their assigned spot when they arrive at school, they are to park in the front lot and let the front office know. The incorrectly parked car will be moved. Parking Passes for 2018-2019 are $150, and are assigned based on a lottery system. Parking Passes are a privilege, not a right. Students who have serious discipline issues may have their pass revoked, and they will not be refunded. Traffic laws will be obeyed on school property and safe driving is expected. TMSA does offer paid after-school care for their students. Please see the school website for more information and to sign up. Every effort will be made to ensure good communication between the home and the school. Parents may communicate directly with the school's staff members via e-mail, voicemail, written request, or by accessing the school's web page. The school’s website contains much information, as well as the school newsletter. TMSA also uses School Reach, an automated phone, sms, email system, to notify parents with events or weather closures. Students may purchase a nutritional lunch through our caterer or may bring their lunch from home. The cost for student lunch will be announced by the caterer. Please inform an administrator with a physician’s note about any allergies or special requirements you child may have. Let’s add procedure for buying lunch online and that the school is not obligated to provide food if the parent fails to order lunch or pack lunch.
Student Drivers. Students who drive to and from school and who park on school property shall be subject to the same initial and random drug testing requirements as students who participate in school sponsored extracurricular activities. In addition to any other sanctions that may be imposed based on a student driver’s participation in school-sponsored extracurricular activities, a student who has a positive test result shall not be permitted to park on school property for 30 school days. After this 30-day period and upon subsequent testing with a negative test result, the student shall be permitted to park on school property. Nothing in this policy limits or prohibits the application of Board policy providing for disciplinary action for students using, under the influence of, in possession of, or distributing illegal drugs or alcohol on school property or at school events.

  • STUDENT SAFETY The Parties agree that when a Student attending a College facility expresses to any College employee a suicidal intention or a threat of physical harm to others, a protocol to be agreed prior to the effective date of this MOU will be executed. The protocol will prioritize ensuring that the Student does not pose a threat to self or others. The College will prioritize transitioning management of the issue to School District, the parent / guardian of the student or the most appropriate authority or entity to address the crisis at hand. Often the College Police Department will assess the situation and coordinate that transition with its School District counterpart. School District designates College as its agent under any applicable statutory authority or parent / guardian consent to treatment for the limited purpose of this crisis-response intervention. When on the College campus, Students will follow the policies and procedures of the College to ensure the safety and well-being of the fellow classmates, faculty, staff and visitors. The Colleges will develop standard protocols for various emergency situations. To ensure safety precautions, the College enrolls all students, faculty and staff, including Students in Dual Credit programs, into emergency alert messages. These messages are sent to all groups mentioned via the College email, robocalls and text messages to the telephones listed in the system of record. Alamo Colleges District is subject to legislation requiring it to allow licensees to carry concealed handguns on its campuses effective August 1, 2017, and Students will potentially encounter license holders availing themselves of this privilege. Any notice of these facts to parents of Students will be the responsibility of the School District. Students traveling for College events will be required to sign an Alamo Colleges District General Participation Release as a condition of participation as is required of all students from each of the Colleges of the Alamo Colleges District.

  • Bus Drivers The provisions of this Article apply to school term bus drivers except as hereinafter modified. Bus Drivers are guaranteed a base of one thousand and ninety (1090) hours per school year. Guarantee consists of 1090 hours divided by possible working days in a school year times actual number of days worked. This excludes Saturday and Sunday and General Holiday trips. (a) Regular shift is defined as the conveyance of passengers to school in the morning and home in the afternoon. (b) Extra shift is defined as the conveyance of passengers for extra-curricular activities. (c) Shifts shall be paid at a minimum of two (2) hours and drivers' time will be uninterrupted if less than one-half (½) hour remains between shifts. (i) Drivers are entitled to one 15 minute rest period after two (2) hours of work and a second rest period after six (6) hours of work. Paid waiting times of 15 minutes or more will be construed as a paid rest period regardless of the length of time spent waiting. (d) All work after nineteen hundred (1900) hours on those days on which the regular shift has been worked shall be deemed to be overtime. After twelve (12) hours from the start of the regular shift, work will be deemed as overtime. (e) Hours of work consisting of regular and extra shifts and overtime are shared as equally as possible amongst drivers. Each driver has the opportunity to choose a percentage of the work available beyond one’s guaranteed hours, although the decision of the Employer will prevail. If no drivers are available, other transportation department staff may share the work. (f) Where School District transportation is used for extra-curricular trips on Saturdays and Sundays, the following applies instead of the overtime rates in Article 10.2: (i) Time and one-half (1 ½) regular rate for driving to and from destination. (ii) Upon arrival at destination, waiting time shall be paid at the regular rate of pay. (iii) No shift will be paid less than four (4) hours. (iv) Trips that are cancelled where the driver positions into departure point/school shall be paid at two (2) hours at one and one half (1 ½) times the regular rate. (v) All work carried out in this sub paragraph 9.5(f) shall be on a volunteer basis and shared as equally as possible. All Transportation employees may participate and shall be paid at the Bus Driver rate of pay. (vi) An exception to 9.5 (f) (i) to (iv) above will apply to bus driving on ski trips. Bus drivers who drive on ski trips shall share those hours only with other registered ski trip drivers. (g) Work carried out on General Holidays shall be paid in accordance with the current contract rates. (h) At the end of each school year a review of school bus drivers’ hours of work will be made to ensure minimum guarantee is met. Any shortages will be paid out.

  • Distance Education 7.13.1 Expanding student access, not increasing productivity or enrollment, shall be the primary determining factor when a decision is made to schedule a distance education course. There will be no reduction in force of faculty (as defined in Article XXIII of this Agreement) as a result of the District’s participation in distance education. 7.13.2 Courses considered to be offered as distance education shall be defined in accordance with the Board of Governors’ Title 5 Regulations and Guidelines. Generally, this definition refers to courses where the instructor and student are separated by distance and interact through the assistance of communication technology (reference section 55370 of Title 5 California Code of Regulations). The determination of which courses in the curriculum may be offered in a distance education format, in addition to instructor/student contact requirements, shall be in accordance with the Title 5 California Code of Regulations.
