Subject Tutor. The Subject Tutor is concerned mainly with the subject knowledge development and application of their student teachers. Their main responsibility lies in the development and delivery of their subject route/ sessions and of the in-school subject-specific support provided for their student teachers. The subject tutor is responsible for day-to-day liaison with, and support for, the school-based subject mentor and the student teacher placed/working with them. The subject tutor has a pivotal role in the partnership arrangements; as representatives of the higher education institution they are required to work with the school-based mentor to monitor and develop the quality and standards of subject-specific ITT in partner schools in so far as they impact upon the training of teachers and the successful delivery of the Secondary Partnership Agreement in their subject area. Specifically, subject tutors should:  be fully conversant with all relevant course documentation;  be flexible and responsive to school and student teacher needs;  ensure that the subject-specific mentor in the school fully understands their responsibilities and the requirements of each school experience and the Secondary Partnership Agreement generally;  liaise with the subject-specific mentor to support and monitor the operation of school experience;  plan school visits in advance and in agreement with the mentor and the professional tutor/member of staff with overall responsibility for ITT in the school (communicating with the professional tutor in writing regarding any proposed visit) ;  review relevant action plans and assessment for each student teacher;  provide professional support for the subject-specific mentor;  deal with issues arising out of school experiences in school (including acting upon any Notification of Concern passed on by the link tutor and/or professional tutor);  monitor quality and standards in partner schools in so far as they impact upon the training of teachers and the successful delivery of the Secondary Partnership Agreement;  report any problems or issues relating to school experience (including issues relating to Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities / Race Equality as well as student progress and entitlement) to the link tutor and/or the relevant member of staff with overall responsibility for ITT in the school as well as to the Head of Programme and /or Head of School Partnership;  prepare student teachers for periods of school experience (includ...
