Substitute Teachers Pay. Substitute teachers shall be paid seventy-five dollars ($75.00) a day. Starting with the twenty-first (21st) day in one assignment, a substitute teacher will be paid in accordance with the regular schedule, determined by vote of the School Committee on the Superintendent’s recommendation after consideration of the substitute’s training and experience. Building substitutes shall be paid one hundred dollars ($100.00) per day and will be guaranteed one hundred eighty (180) school days of employment. For the purposes of this section, a building substitute is a day-to-day substitute who is assigned to one school and employed each day of the school year. Long-term substitutes shall not receive a seniority date until he/she has been teaching sixty (60) days in succession in an assignment for which they are certified and at that time his/her seniority date shall be deemed retroactive to the first day of said sixty (60) day period.

  • Substitute Teachers In lieu of salary under the Basic Salary Schedule, the District shall pay to teachers employed on the basis of the teacher being available for service if and when called upon by the District, and known as Substitute Teachers, an allowance of $217.04 per day of teaching effective September 1, 2011. Half days will be paid at 50 per cent of the full day allowance.

  • Substitute Teaching An adjunct faculty member who is interested in a substitute teaching assignment may be assigned to teach as a substitute in a course section for which the adjunct faculty member is qualified to teach. Each semester an adjunct faculty member may submit to the appropriate Xxxx a written request, on a form provided by the College, which shall indicate his/her willingness and availability to act as a substitute teacher and a reliable means by which to contact the adjunct faculty member on short notice. Such retired teachers shall not be eligible for any other benefits provided to bargaining unit employees under this Agreement. The BOARD agrees that the employment and as- signment of retired teachers shall not result in the displacement of any appointed or assigned teacher.

  • Non-Tenured Teachers A leave may be granted to a non-tenured teacher by action of the Board of Education, subject to all the conditions applicable to a tenured teacher. However, for a school term to count toward the attainment of tenure, the non-tenured teacher must work at least one hundred twenty (120) full time employment days. A school term that is not counted toward attainment of tenure shall not be considered a break in service for purposes of determining whether the non- tenured teacher has been employed for the period of time necessary to attain tenure, provided that the non-tenured teacher actually teaches or is otherwise present and participating in District 34’s educational program in the following school term. The granting of maternity leave to any non-tenured teacher shall not constitute a precedent for the granting or withholding of leave to any other non-tenured teacher. Each request shall be judged on its own merits and shall be within the sole discretion of the Board. Additional conditions or restrictions may be established for any such leave, provided nothing herein shall be construed as requiring any non-tenured teacher to apply for such leave or accept the conditions established therefore.

  • Newly Hired Teachers Newly hired Teachers shall be paid in Category A1 until such time as they provide proof of a different category classification.
