Summer Student Employee an employee who is hired or assigned to fill a seasonal specific work requirement which is anticipated to be of limited duration for part or all of the period between the end of post-secondary classes in April and August 31 of each year. Summer Student employees shall only be entitled to the provisions of this Agreement relating to wage rates, hours of work, rest periods, and those benefits to which they are entitled by virtue of Federal or Provincial Government statutes. Sec. 3 Regular employee shall be defined as a person who has satisfactorily completed sixty (60) calendar days service with the Board and who is employed on a regular full-time or part-time basis. Regular full-time employees shall be entitled to all benefits of this Agreement. Regular part-time employees shall receive, when eligible, benefit entitlement on a pro rata basis. Sec. 4 Maintenance staff shall include or mean, unless the context is more clearly specified or limited, Tradesmen and other employees working under the Operations Department.

Summer Student Employee an employee who is employed only for and during the time period of May to the Friday preceding Labour Day of any given year. A Summer Stu- dent Employee shall be hired for the purpose of performing only Labourer work. The employment of such an employee may be at any time without to the Grievance Procedureunless claims dis- crimination noted in Article hereof as the basis of Inany case the employment of such employee shall be no later the Friday preceding Labour Day of each year.

  • Student Employees A student employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work which is not ongoing. He/she is normally in the process of completing his/her post-graduate studies and is expected to return to his/her studies after an agreed employment period. The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).

  • Permanent Employees The allocations outlined in paragraphs b) and c) above will be provided on the first day of each fiscal year, or the first day of employment, subject to the exceptions below: Where a permanent Employee is accessing sick leave and/or the short-term disability plan in a fiscal year and the absence continues into the following fiscal year for the same medical condition, the permanent Employee will continue to access any unused sick leave days or short-term disability days from the previous fiscal year’s allocation. A new allocation will not be provided to the permanent Employee until s/he has returned to work and completed eleven (11) consecutive working days at their regular working hours. The permanent Employee’s new sick leave allocation will be eleven (11) days at 100% wages. The permanent Employee will also be allocated one hundred and twenty (120) short term disability days payable at ninety percent (90%) of regular salary reduced by any paid sick days already taken in the current fiscal year. If a permanent Employee is absent on his/her last regularly scheduled work day and the first regularly scheduled work day of the following year for unrelated reasons, the allocation outlined above will be provided on the first day of the fiscal year, provided the employee submits medical documentation to support the absence, in accordance with paragraph (h).

  • Subsequent Employment Those teachers whose employment commences after the start of the school year shall pay a pro-rated amount equal to the percentage of the remaining school year.

  • Intermittent Employees On the first day of the monthly pay period following completion of each period of 160 hours or 20 days of paid employment, each intermittent employee in the State civil service shall be allowed one (1) day of credit for sick leave with pay. The hours or days worked in excess of 160 hours or 20 days in a monthly pay period shall not be counted or accumulated.
