Supplier’s Working on Site Arrangements. For general works and Site access the Supplier shall employ a permit to work system as directed by DCC or, alternatively, use a permit system of their own, the format of which will be agreed with DCC Account Manager. Alternatively, the Supplier can use and adapt the current permit system if they take full responsibility for its implementation and subsequent development and use. The specialist permits are to include, but not be limited to: • Restricted areasConfined spacesGeneral accessRoof access • Riser access • Extinguishant isolation • Low voltage electricity working • Live electricity working • Hot working. • Lone working Generic risk assessments and method statements shall be produced by the Supplier and used by all members of the team for all standard maintenance. For all other maintenance and maintenance activities undertaken by external Supplier’s, suppliers or consultants a full Site- specific method statement and risk assessment will be required at least 48 hours before work is due to commence. The Supplier shall read and approve this if appropriate and shall: • Acknowledge and demonstrate a duty of care for the health and safety of its own and any contracted staff operating on their behalf • Issue a permit to work (electronically or otherwise) with traceability to ensure a full audit trail is available. • Manage third party contractors/ companies undertaking works all the time they are on DCC premises., The supplier shall provide an approved induction that the specialist will sign and date before any work starts and keep a copy of the induction in an accessible and auditable system for future reference • Check to ensure that the third party is always wearing the appropriate PPE • Monitor Site works, ensuring compliance with agreed method statements and DCC SSHE policy. As a minimum, this will include a check no more than 30 minutes after the works have commenced followed up by visits at intervals of no more than 2 hours, with a final check and inspection of work area upon completion before signing off the permit. • When the work is complete, the Supplier shall inspect it fully and ensure that it is aware of any issues where additional works may be required. The Supplier will ensure that the works are left in a clean and tidy condition and sign off and file the permit to work.   • Solicitations for Subcontracts, Including Procurement of Materials and Equipment In all solicitations either by competitive bidding or negotiation made by the Local Government for work to be performed under a subcontract, including procurement of materials or leases of equipment, each potential subcontractor or supplier will be notified by the Local Government of the Local Government’s obligations under this Agreement and the Acts and Regulations relative to Nondiscrimination on the grounds of race, color, or national origin.

  • Working Arrangements (i) The former industry practice whereby all Employees on site working in direct sunlight were relocated to shaded or air- conditioned areas when the temperature reached 32°C, will no longer operate. (ii) At temperatures below 35°C workers are not to be relocated out of direct sunlight unless the work environment creates a serious risk to their health and safety, having regard to the nature of the tasks being undertaken, provided that the task or activity being performed is completed and the penalty provisions as for emergency work under the Award shall apply. (iii) Once the temperature reaches 35°C work will cease, and workers may leave the site, provided that the task or activity being performed is completed and the penalty provisions as for emergency work under the Award shall apply. (iv) During periods of hot weather, work in air conditioned environments shall continue as normal. Workers will walk a reasonable distance through the open to and from amenities and the air-conditioned work space, provided it does not pose a serious threat to their health or safety. Alternatively, where the Employer can artificially ventilate covered spaces onsite and reduce the temperature to below 35°C, work may continue as normal subject to consultation and agreement with affected Employees to comply with the provisions of this clause. (v) By agreement with the OH&S committee and head contractor during periods of inclement weather (heat) the Saturday break roster can be applied to weekday work.
