Supplier’s Working on Site Arrangements. For general works and Site access the Supplier shall employ a permit to work system as directed by DCC or, alternatively, use a permit system of their own, the format of which will be agreed with DCC Account Manager. Alternatively, the Supplier can use and adapt the current permit system if they take full responsibility for its implementation and subsequent development and use. The specialist permits are to include, but not be limited to: • Restricted areasConfined spacesGeneral accessRoof access • Riser access • Extinguishant isolation • Low voltage electricity working • Live electricity working • Hot working. • Lone working Generic risk assessments and method statements shall be produced by the Supplier and used by all members of the team for all standard maintenance. For all other maintenance and maintenance activities undertaken by external Supplier’s, suppliers or consultants a full Site- specific method statement and risk assessment will be required at least 48 hours before work is due to commence. The Supplier shall read and approve this if appropriate and shall: • Acknowledge and demonstrate a duty of care for the health and safety of its own and any contracted staff operating on their behalf • Issue a permit to work (electronically or otherwise) with traceability to ensure a full audit trail is available. • Manage third party contractors/ companies undertaking works all the time they are on DCC premises., The supplier shall provide an approved induction that the specialist will sign and date before any work starts and keep a copy of the induction in an accessible and auditable system for future reference • Check to ensure that the third party is always wearing the appropriate PPE • Monitor Site works, ensuring compliance with agreed method statements and DCC SSHE policy. As a minimum, this will include a check no more than 30 minutes after the works have commenced followed up by visits at intervals of no more than 2 hours, with a final check and inspection of work area upon completion before signing off the permit. • When the work is complete, the Supplier shall inspect it fully and ensure that it is aware of any issues where additional works may be required. The Supplier will ensure that the works are left in a clean and tidy condition and sign off and file the permit to work. SHORT TERM EXTENSION In the event a replacement Contract has not been issued, any Contract let and awarded hereunder by the State, may be extended unilaterally by the State for an additional period of up to 3 months upon notice to the Contractor with the same terms and conditions as the original Contract including, but not limited to, prices and delivery requirements. With the concurrence of the Contractor, the extension may be for a period of up to 6 months in lieu of 3 months.
