Sustainability Standards. The Timber Procurement Policy requires that all timber and wood-derived products for supply or use in performance of the contract must be independently verifiable and either: (i) from a legal and sustainable source; or (ii) from a Forest Law, Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) - licensed or equivalent source.
Sustainability Standards. Products included in the Proposer’s price proposal must meet the Mandatory Environmental and Human Health requirements. In addition, the Mandatory Environmental and Human Health requirements apply to the finished product as assembled, not individual components unless otherwise specified. Upon request, Proposers will be expected to provide applicable documentation verifying it meets current LEED criteria. As applicable to the individual criteria, documentation will be in the form of third-party certificates, product test results, applicable forms, a formal letter of assurance from the manufacturer stating the product meets sustainability criteria, or other documentation as needed to meet green building certification documentation requirements. Furniture should contribute to the LEED Materials Ingredient, where a product’s material ingredients list is disclosed at the 1,000 ppm threshold (0.1% by weight). Acceptable certifications or declarations to meet this criteria are: ANSI/BIFMA e3 (LEVEL certified), Cradle to Cradle, Material Health Certificates, Declare, and/or Health Products Declarations (HPDs). All products specified under the Price Agreement shall meet the following environmental and human health requirements: • Flame Retardants – products shall be free of added flame-retardant chemicals. *Exception: Electrical components • VOC Emissions – products shall be third-party certified as to meeting the most current California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Standard. Compliance shall be tested in accordance with ANSI/BIFMA Standard Method. Product certification must be valid at the time of RFP submittal and kept valid throughout the procurement process. • Formaldehyde – Products containing composite wood materials (including hardwood plywood, hardwood plywood veneer core, hardwood plywood composite core, particleboard, or medium density fiberboard), whether raw or finished, shall comply with Phase 2 of California’s Code of Regulations. Compliance documentation for this requirement may be satisfied by demonstrating applicable components meet the requirement, as opposed to the finished product as assembled. • Antimicrobials – Products shall be free of intentionally added or built-in antimicrobial agents. • Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) – Products that constitute at least 5%, by weight, of the finished product must contain less than 100 parts per million (ppm) of Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, including Perfluorooc...

Sustainability Standards. 1. The Supplier shall be responsible for compliance with sustainability standards that enable it to operate its activities in a sustainable and environmentally manner, adhering to both legal and ethical standards in sustainability. 2. The supplier must be comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulation. 3. In order to meet the sustainability standards, the supplier is obliged to actively contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions through energy- efficient practices. 4. The supplier is obliged to minimize waste in its operations, which includes implementing effective recycling programs, responsible waste disposal, and reducing packaging materials.

  • Sustainability (12 /18) Pursuant to the City’s Sustainable City Principles, which direct City Bureaus to pursue long-term social equity, environmental quality, and economic vitality through innovative and traditional mechanisms, Contractor is encouraged to incorporate these Principles into its scope of work with the City wherever possible. Therefore, in accordance with the Principles and the City's Sustainable Procurement Policy, it is the policy of the City of Portland to encourage the use of Products or Services that help to minimize the human health and environmental impacts of City operations.
