Common use of Temporary Part-Time Clause in Contracts

Temporary Part-Time. Temporary part-time employees are employed for a period of up to 12 accumulated months on an average of 24 hours or less per week (calculated on a monthly basis). Temporary part-time employees are treated as temporary employees except where noted otherwise. Benefits are pro-rated the same as regular part-time employees. To ensure that temporary part-time employees are properly classified as temporary, an assessment is to be made as to the regular or temporary status of the position whenever the temporary part-time employee is employed for twelve continuous1 calendar months. This assessment is subject to the grievance procedure.
