Term Adjunct Faculty Appointment. A Term Adjunct faculty appointment is a renewable limited responsibilities appointment of eight (8) months to three (3) years duration, with academic rank. To hold a Term Adjunct appointment a person must a) teach the equivalent of two or more full courses per year; or receive remuneration for teaching duties and related activities which is more than fifty percent (50%) of the floor salary established in Article or perform teaching and related academic activities at the University which comprise an annual workload equivalent to either of the categories noted immediately above. The dates for calculating teaching loads for Adjuncts are May to April For Adjuncts teaching intersession, courses shall count from May For all purposes of service and continuity, an eight (8) month contract shall be viewed as a one (I)year contract. A period of authorized leave shall neither break nor be counted as part of such consecutive service. Furthermore, gaps in membership in the Bargaining Unit of not more than twelve (12) months due to lack of work shall be treated as authorized leaves for the purposes of this Article. Efforts shall be made by the relevant Units to offer Term Adjunct faculty a contract of two (2) or three (3) years duration.

The initial letter of offer shall contain the following elements:

  • Term Appointments 16.3.4.1 A Term appointment carries no implication of renewal or continuation beyond the contractually limited term. A person holding a Term appointment may apply for a Probationary or Continuing appointment if such a position is available.

  • Continuing Appointment A continuing appointment shall continue until retirement or until otherwise terminated pursuant to this Agreement.

  • XXXXXXXX'S APPOINTMENT The Authority hereby appoints the Supplier as a potential provider of the Services and the Supplier shall be eligible to be considered for the award of Orders for such Services by the Authority and Other Contracting Bodies during the Term and in consideration of the Supplier agreeing to enter into this Framework Agreement and to perform its obligations under it the Authority agrees to pay and the Supplier agrees to accept on the signing of this Framework Agreement the sum of one (£1.00) pound sterling (receipt of which is hereby acknowledged by the Supplier).

  • Adjunct Appointments The use of adjuncts at a university shall, upon the request of the UFF Chapter representatives, be a subject of consultation under the provisions of Article 2.1, Consultation.

  • Salary on Appointment Note: These provisions shall be applied in accordance with any administrative conditions that were in effect at the commencement of this Agreement. Nothing in these provisions shall be read as extending any entitlement beyond that which existed at the commencement of this Agreement except as may be expressly agreed to by the Secretary for Education after consultation with the unions.
