Transport / Repatriation. If your fall ill or are injured, our medical doctors will contact the local doctor who treated you for the Illness or the Accident. The information collected from the local doctor and eventually the usual general practitioner, after a decision by our doctors based only on medical requirements, allow us to trigger and organise: - either your return to your place of Residence, - or your transport, where applicable under medical supervision, to a suitable hospital establishment close by in your country of Residence by a light ambulance vehicle, by ambulance, by train (seat in 1st class, 1st class sleeper, or sleeper train), by airline or by medical air transport. In some situations, your medical condition may require you to be transported to a medical centre close by first, before your return to a structure close to your place of Residence can be envisaged. Only your medical conditions and compliance with applicable health regulations are considered when deciding on transport, the choice of means of transport, and the choice of the eventual location for hospitalization.
Transport / Repatriation. If the Insured is Ill or injured during a covered Trip, the Assistance Provider’s medical team will contact the local doctor who examined the Insured. The information obtained from the local doctor and possibly from your usual general practitioner will help the Assistance Provider, after consulting our doctors to initiate and organise transport, depending solely on medical requirements: ▪ the Insured returns to his/her Domicile, or ▪ his/her transfer, where necessary under medical supervision, to a suitable hospital near his/her Domicile, ▪ or to hospitalise the Insured locally in a care centre before considering returning to a facility close to his/her Domicile. Only the Insured’s medical situation and compliance with the sanitary regulations in force will be taken into consideration when making the decision to move the Insured, the choice of the means used for this transfer and the choice of the place of any hospitalisation.
Transport / Repatriation. If a Policy holder suffers from an Illness or Injury, the Europ Assistance doctors will contact the local doctor in charge of the Policy holder’s care following the event. The information collected from the local doctor and eventually the Insured party’s usual general practitioner, will allow Europ Assistance to trigger and organise, based on medical requirements only: • either the return of the Policy holder to their Home, • or their transport, where applicable under medical supervision, to a suitable hospital establishment close to their Home, by light medical vehicle, ambulance, sleeper train, 1st class train (sleeper or seat), economy class plane or medical plane. Similarly, exclusively based on medical requirements and on decision by Europ Assistance doctors, Europ Assistance can, in some cases, initiate and organise initial transport of the Policy holder to a local healthcare centre before considering a return to an establishment close to the Policy holder’s Home. Only the Policy holder’s medical condition and compliance with applicable health regulations are considered when deciding on transport, the choice of means of transport, and the choice of the eventual location for hospitalisation.
