Union Use of Bulletin. Boards at the University The Union may post bulletins and notices pertaining to official Union business on official bulletin boards. All such postings shall be made over the signature of a certified Union representative and shall be coordinated with the individual responsible for the bulletin board.
Union Use of Bulletin. Boards The Company agrees to the posting by the Union on scheduling boards, of announcements regarding elections, meetings, negotiation developments and internal affairs of the Union, provided such notices are authorized by Management, and such authorization will not be unreasonably withheld. Leave For Union Activities Upon request by the Union, the Company will release without loss of pay or other benefits up to four (4) employees named by the Union to attend negotiation meetings, and up to three (3) employees to attend grievance meetings. Additionally, the four (4) employees named by the Union to attend negotiation meetings shall each be granted one common day off without loss of payor other benefits in order to attend a union meeting. The Union shall provide the Company with three (3) weeks advance notice of such day. It is agreed that an employee is releasedfor his full shift without payor other benefitsduring negotiation meetings. Further, should an employee agree to attend at grievance meetings, health and safety meetings, or any other joint meetings during his off hours, he shall receive equivalent time off without loss of pay or other benefits, and with a minimum credit of four (4) hours to be taken at a time mutually agreed. The four (4) hour minimum credit will not apply when a Union official attends such meeting during his work hours, and the meeting goes beyond his regularly sched- uled shift end time. Union Office Facility- The Company agrees to provide the Union, at no charge, suitable office space for the purpose of serving the Local membership. The Union will reimburse the Company for any incidental costs associated with running the office. Leave For Union Activities Leave without pay will be granted any employee duly authorized to represent employees in order to: Attend executive council meetings, labour conventions, congresses, etc. A request for such leave shall be submitted in writing at least fifteen (15) days in advance, and such leave shall not exceed a maximum aggregate total of thirty (30) working days in any calendar year. The leave provided above will be limited at any one time to three (3) employees from any one job function to a maximum of eight (8) employees. In a year when a National Convention is scheduled, the SPECIALTY maximum aggregate total of days may be increased by eight (8) days to be used solely for the purpose of attending the Convention. Up to three (3) employees may accept a full-time elective position with the Union or an official labour body for a period not exceeding four (4) years, or a I time appointive position with the Union for a period not exceeding two (2) years. Any additional yearly periods may be granted by the Company on receipt of a written request from the employee and the President of the Union. Upon written request by the Union, the Company agrees to release without loss of pay at the basic rate or leave credits, three (3) employees named by the Union in order to attend grievance meetings with the Company as provided for in Article 6; but any time spent in such meetings shall not be considered for the purpose of I determining overtime pay if the meetings extend beyond a normal tour.
