Use of Holiday Compensatory Time. In as much as the aforementioned holiday compensatory time accrual is to be used to augment an employee's vacation, the procedures for using said compensatory time are described in Article VIII (Vacation) of this Agreement. Holidays, vacation and Personal Days cannot be carried over and must be used or they will be lost.

Use of Holiday Compensatory Time. An employee should make such written request to their supervisor at least one hundred sixty (160) hours prior to the intended absence. A written request with less than one hundred sixty (160) hours prior to the beginning of the first shift of the intended absence will be granted at the discretion of an employee’s supervisor. If a conflict arises between employees, the date of initial written request will be the deciding factor. Request for holiday compensatory days off will either be approved or disapproved within three (3) working days for dispatchers and two (2) working days for all other classifications subject to operational need. Upon separation, all accrued holiday compensatory time will be paid either to the employee or their heirs as applicable.
