VACATION LEAVE WITH PAY. 15.01 For each calendar month in which an employee has earned at least ten (10) days' pay, vacation leave credits shall be earned at the rate of: (a) eleven decimal sixty six (11.66) hours per month until the month in which the employee completes seven (7) years of service; (b) fourteen decimal fifty eight (14.58) hours per month commencing with the month in which the employee completes seven (7) years of service; (c) seventeen decimal five (17.5) hours per month commencing with the month in which the employee completes sixteen (16) years of service. (d) 18.750 hours commencing with the month in which the employee's twenty-eight (28th) anniversary of service occurs;
20.03 All the vacation leave should be taken during the vacation year in which it is earned. Where in any vacation year employees have not been granted all of the vacation leave credited to them, the unused portion of vacation leave shall be carried over into the following vacation year. Carry-over beyond one year will be allowed only under extraordinary circumstances.
20.04 Subject to operational requirements, the Gallery shall make every reasonable effort to schedule the vacation leave in a manner acceptable to the employee.
20.05 The Gallery shall make every reasonable effort not to recall an employee to duty after the employee has proceeded on vacation leave.
20.06 The Gallery shall give an employee as much notice as is practicable and reasonable of approval, disapproval or cancellation of a request for vacation leave and shall do so in writing.
20.07 Where an employee has less than six months of continuous service, and has insufficient or no credits to cover the granting of vacation is granted bereavement leave, vacation leave with pay may, at the discretion because of the employer, be granted subject to the deduction of such advanced leave from vacation leave credits subsequently earned, or the recovery of the advance illness in the event immediate family or sick leave on production of termination for reasons other than death or lay-off.

20.08 When the Gallery cancels or alters a period of an employeevacation which it has previously approved in writing, the Gallery shall reimburse the employee shall be reimbursed for the non-refundable nonreturnable portion of vacation contracts and reservations made by the employee in respect to of that period, subject to the presentation of such documentation as the employer Gallery may require. The employee must make every reasonable attempt to mitigate any losses incurred and will provide proof of such action to the Gallery.

20.11 Notwithstanding the number of days above, employees whose employment is terminated due to a declaration that they have abandoned their position are entitled to receive the payment of earned but unused vacation leave to the employee’s credit by the daily rate of pay applicable to the employee’s substantive classification immediately prior to the termination of their employment. When the employee ceases to be employed for reasons of death, the above mentioned amount of money will be paid to the employee’s estate or named beneficiarywith pay.
(a) Recognition 20.12 For greater certainty, severance payments taken under Article 44.10 to 44.13, or similar provisions in other collective agreements, do not reduce the years of a One-Time Entitlement, the employee shall be credited a one-time entitlement of thirty-five hours of continuous employment used to calculate vacation leave with pay on the first day of the month following the employee’s second anniversary of servicefor those persons still employed.
