Accumulated Leave. Employees may accumulate vacation leave to a maximum of forty (40) hours over and above the employee's maximum annual earning rate. No additional vacation leave shall be earned until such time as the employee=s accumulated vacation leave drops below the stated maximum. In such event, the accumulation of vacation leave will again commence, but in no event shall it exceed forty (40) hours over and above the employee=s maximum earning rate.
Accumulated Leave. All accumulated leave time shall terminate upon severance of employment. However, if alleged contract or discipline violations which prompted severance prove to be unwarranted, all accumulated leave due said teacher shall be reinstated.
Accumulated Leave. An employee on an extended leave of absence without pay will not accumulate fringe benefits, nor will he/she benefit from salary increments. Upon return from leave, he/she will be credited with the balance of sick leave allowance that he/she had accrued to the effective date of the leave and the salary step will remain the same.
Accumulated Leave. In the event of lay-off pursuant to this section, a teacher’s seniority will remain unbroken and his/her accumulated leave days shall not be canceled but shall remain credited to him/her pending his/her return to a teaching assignment in the district. Teachers on a workforce reduction list shall not be prohibited from seeking and accepting gainful employment elsewhere and shall not be terminated for that reason except on written request of the teacher.
Accumulated Leave. All Sick, Bereavement (Emergency), and Personal Leave accrued and accumulated prior to the 2016-2017 contract year shall be credited to Teachers as Accumulated Sick Leave to be capped at 125 days. Accumulated Sick Leave will be paid out at ¼ of daily rate at time of payout request. Payout requests must be submitted by May 1 of each year and include amount to be paid out. Sick Leave not paid out in accordance with this subsection may be used for illness, serious illness, medical appointments, or medical disability of the employee or members of the employee’s immediate family. Sick leave not paid out in accordance with this subsection may be used for bereavement by the employee for the death of the immediate family member for three consecutive days. Immediate family is defined as spouse, partner, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, and like relatives of the spouse or partner including xxxxxx and step relations.
a. Accumulated Sick Leave days held under this Article cannot be used until a Teacher’s annual Discretionary Leave allotment has been exhausted.
b. Abuse of sick leave will result in discipline up to termination in accordance with this agreement and district policy.
c. The School District shall notify each Teacher in writing, at least annually, the number of sick days accrued.
d. After three (3) consecutive days of leave for illness, the School District may require a teacher to furnish a medical certificate. The teacher will be so advised before he returns to school and will have thirty (30) days in which to provide the certificate.
Accumulated Leave. A written notice showing the accumulated leave balance at the end of the prior contract year will be provided to each teacher on or before the September 20th pay period.
Accumulated Leave. The superintendent may excuse a teacher's absence(s) for extenuating circumstances when the current year leave entitlement has been exhausted. Accumulated Leave. Subd. 1. Accrual and Utilization: A teacher will earn twelve (12) days of accumulated leave time per school year. All accumulated leave is maintained in hours and teachers can be used in hour increments. The unused portion of such allowance shall accumulate from year to year to a maximum of 280 days. All paid time, including discretionary leave, sick leave and family illness will be deducted from a teacher’s accrued accumulative leave balance. Teachers are encouraged to inform their administrators of planned absences as far in advance as possible. Once these twelve days are granted the District cannot retract them.
Accumulated Leave. A. Accumulated leave with pay shall be granted on the basis of one (1) eight-hour day per calendar month (12 days/96 hours per year) for each full-time employee, and pro-rated accordingly for part-time employees and those hired after September 1st. Accrued accumulated leave will be posted on each monthly payroll advice and leave balances will be made available to employees online in the Employee Access Center. Personal leave as described in Subsection I of Section 7 shall be accrued at the beginning of each contract year. Additional annual allotment of accumulated leave shall be accrued proportionately during the remaining months of the contract year. Teachers may access unearned accumulated leave, not to exceed the total accumulated leave for the contract year. Use of unearned accumulated leave will be recorded on payroll advice as a negative leave balance.
B. Earned leave may be accumulated from year to year until a teacher has accumulated a maximum of one hundred twenty (120) days.
C. Accumulated Leave Buy-back Program: Teachers who have unused accumulated leave beyond the 120-day maximum at the end of a contract year will be eligible to annually sell back up to 12 unused days down to the 120-day maximum. Each day would be compensated at a rate of ½ the current daily substitute rate of pay.
D. When a teacher separates from the district, that teacher shall be paid for unused accumulated leave at the rate of one-half (1/2) of the district’s current daily pay for substitute teachers, not to exceed ninety (90) days.
E. After three (3) consecutive days of an employee’s absence for illness, the District may request a licensed physician’s certificate for the absence to be counted as accumulated leave.
X. Accumulated leave may be taken for personal illness as well as for an illness of the individual’s family – (father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, spouse, child, xxxxxxxxxx, brother, sister or legal dependent). Additional absences will be considered under the personal leave section of this agreement.
X. If an individual has exhausted his/her accumulated leave days due to personal illness or incapacitation or a dependent’s illness or incapacitation (spouse or minor child for whom the employee is legally and financially responsible), the individual shall retain all employment rights and the district shall continue to pay all insurance premiums provided for in this contract during the time the employee is eligible as defined by th...
