VISITING DAY. Upon recommendation of the Principal and approval of the Superintendent, one visiting day per school year for educational purposes may be granted to any teacher. The Association recognizes that the intent of the Board in providing this day is to allow teachers an opportunity to acquaint themselves with outstanding examples of educational projects or facilities which should result in benefits to the North Huron program. An approved visiting day shall count as a teaching day.
VISITING DAY. 1. The Superintendent is empowered to grant one (1) visiting day per year to any teacher.
2. Teachers may request a visiting day. Recommendation for granting the visiting day will be made by the school principal.
VISITING DAY. Upon recommendation of the principal and approval of the Board, one visiting day per school year for educational purposes shall be granted to any teacher. The Association recognizes that the intent of the Board in providing this day is to allow teachers an opportunity to acquaint themselves with outstanding examples of educational projects or facilities which should result in benefits to the Grosse Pointe program. Prior approval of such a leave is necessary and is granted for the sole purpose intended. (117) An approved visiting day shall count as a teaching day.
VISITING DAY. A visiting day may be provided each year if requested. Date of such visitation will be mutually agreed to by the teacher and administration.
VISITING DAY. 1. The Administrative Staff encourages the practice of unit members visiting other classrooms to the extent that it may prove helpful in developing unit member competencies otherwise improving the educational program. It is expected that there will be a specific purpose for each visit. Experienced unit members will consider it a professional responsibility to permit new unit members to visit their classrooms.
2. While visits may be made within the same school building, within the District, or outside the District, it is expected that most will be within the Penn Yan school system. The initiative for planning a visit may be taken by the unit member or by the building principal. The principal must approve all requests for visits. Unit member visits should be listed as such on building staff absence reports. It is the responsibility of the unit member and the building principal to ensure that each visit is a meaningful and profitable experience.
3. Each unit member may, upon request, be granted an out-of-district visiting day. Out-of-district visits often provide experience and information which may be of value to other members of the professional staff. For this reason, the principal will require a written report from each unit member who visits out of the district within five (5) school days after the visitation.
4. Visitation days shall not be charged as personal leave day(s).
VISITING DAY. (a) Full-time teachers may be allowed to spend one (1) day per school year in observing another school system provided that the following conditions are fulfilled:
i. adequate substitute replacement can be obtained.
ii. the visiting day has been approved in advance by the Superintendent of Schools and the Principal.
(b) Said visiting day shall not be deducted from paid sick leave.
