Work Day Teachers. The normal teacher’s day shall be as follows: Fifteen minutes before school starts and may leave fifteen minutes after the end of the usual student day. The maximum work day should not exceed 7 hours and 50 minutes. The normal work day shall be followed, except the beginning and ending times may be altered for the following: 3.1 Faculty meetings, not to extend 30 minutes beyond the latest normal teacher dismissal time. 3.2 Altered bus service. 3.3 Curriculum meetings, not to extend 30 minutes beyond the latest normal teacher dismissal time. 3.4 Scheduled appointments with parents or students by the principal for parent/teacher conferences. If a parent requests a conference with a teacher concerning a student(s), the teacher shall have the authority to schedule those appointments. 3.5 Open house. 3.6 Emergency situations where employees’ presence is required by the Superintendent to protect the welfare or safety of the students. 3.7 Other professional meetings or at the request of the administration, not to extend 30 minutes beyond the latest normal teacher dismissal time. 3.8 In the event that students are dismissed early due to holidays, weather or spring break, teachers, teacher aides, secretaries, and cooks shall be dismissed following the departure of the last bus from the school unless needed for supervision of students as requested by the administrator.

Work Day Teachers. The work day for licensed staff working at an elementary school shall begin at 8:40 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. The work day for licensed staff working at the middle school shall begin at 8:05 a.m. and end at 2:55 p.m. The length of the student school day shall not exceed six (6) hours and thirty (30) minutes. Every Tuesday when students are in attendance, the licensed staff working at an elementary school shall begin their work day at 8:20 a.m. The licensed staff working at the middle school shall begin their work day at 7:45 a.m. Use of this time will be determined by the PLCAC. Representatives from the District Leadership Team shall submit proposed Tuesdays to be used for grading purposes to the Board of Education for consideration and approval.

The use of two (2) Tuesdays per month will be utilized for team and/or vertical collaboration. The use of the remaining Tuesdays will be determined by the SLT. The Tuesday before report cards shall be used for grading purposes.

Related to Work Day Teachers

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Work Shift The hours an employee is scheduled to work each workday in a workweek.

  • Pre-Commencement Phase Services The services required to be provided by the Contractor for the Pre- Commencement Phase of the Project in accordance with the Contract Documents.

  • Service Commencement Date The date the Transmission Provider begins to provide service pursuant to the terms of an executed Service Agreement, or the date the Transmission Provider begins to provide service in accordance with Section 15.3 or Section 29.1 under the Tariff.

  • Work on Fridays (a) This clause only applies in circumstances where clause 37.5 – Leisure Time Protected applies. (b) The Employer and Employees will endeavour to ensure that wherever possible and subject to operational requirements, normal productive work shall cease at the finish of ordinary hours on Fridays. (c) Operational requirements that would require productive work to continue past this time include, but are not limited to circumstances where such work will be able to continue if the work is necessary for the production schedule to be maintained or to ensure that other Employees can be productively employed. (d) Other circumstances where work will be able to continue include the following: to recover time lost due to excessive periods of inclement weather, matters not necessarily the fault of the employer which have led to the project being delayed or behind schedule, the requirement to meet the Principal’s work program and unexpected delays in the project due to scheduling of other works or supply of materials. Note 1: An Employee has the right to determine their representation (if any) in accordance with Part 7 – Employee Representation of this Agreement.
