Workday/Workweek. The standard workweek for full-time employees shall be five (5) consecutive days, Monday through Friday consisting of eight (8) hours to be completed within an eight and one-half (8 ½) hour period for a total of forty (40) hours. Part-time employees shall work the hours assigned. Employees required by their supervisors to work more than their assigned hours are required to enter such time on their timesheets. Employees may work other schedules with the concurrence of the District. This provision shall in no way be construed to restrict the District’s right to assign overtime. Employees shall receive an unpaid, duty-free lunch period of at least thirty (30) minutes for a workday of more than five hours of scheduled paid work time. Example A: Lunch Paid Time Total Start Time: 8:00 a.m. 3 hours, 45 minutes – before lunch Break: 9:45 a.m. (15 min.) Paid time End Time: 1:00 p.m. Total Shift: 5 hours Employees shall receive a fifteen (15) minute rest period, as part of the regular workday, for each four (4) hours of work. For paraprofessionals, 30 minutes of each week shall be for the purpose of collaboration with colleagues. Travel time between schools shall be considered time worked when an employee’s work assignment, as established by the District, requires travel to complete consecutive work hours. An employee who voluntarily seeks two separate assignments shall not receive paid travel time. The starting and ending times for each employee shall be determined by the employee’s supervisor, based on the program and schedule. If the starting and ending times are to be changed, the supervisor will confer with the affected employee(s) prior to implementation. It is understood by the parties that for purposes of applying the Fair Labor Standards Act to employees covered by the FLSA, a work week is a seven (7) consecutive day period designated by the employer consisting of twenty-four (24) hours each day. The District’s seven-day period begins at 12:00 a.m., Monday, and runs through 11:59 p.m., Sunday.

B. Normal Work Week
1. For clerical employees and food service employees, the work week shall be Monday- Friday.
2. Custodial/maintenance employees shall be five (5) consecutive days, Monday through Friday consisting work 8 hours per day Monday-Friday. Said work hours are exclusive of eight (8) hours to be completed within an eight and the one-half (8 ½1/2) hour lunch period for and inclusive of break periods.
3. The Administration shall give an employee a total copy of forty his/her work schedule when he/she is hired. An employee shall be given at least two (402) hours. Partweeks' notice of any change in his/her work schedule, except to require additional overtime assignments.
C. Non-time Student Days On teacher institute days, employees shall work the hours assignedtheir regular hours. Employees required by their supervisors who work the night shift may request to work more than their assigned the day shift on such days. On snow/emergency days only custodial/maintenance employees shall work.
D. Employees who work in excess of five clock hours are required per day shall be entitled to enter such time on their timesheets. Employees may a thirty minute unpaid lunch period, schedule by his/her supervisor, all as added to the normal work other schedules with the concurrence of the District. This provision day, except that Cooks shall in no way have a 20 minute meal period which shall not be construed deducted from hours worked.

G. If an employee is required, in an emergency, to surrender his/her duty-free lunch, and work in lieu thereof, as determined in the sole discretion of his/her supervisor, he/she shall be considered given either time worked when an employee’s work assignment, as established by off at the District, requires travel to complete consecutive work hours. end of the day or comp time schedule with the approval of his/her supervisor.
