XXXXXXX AND RECALL a) Layoff Defined A layoff shall be defined as an employer initiated reduction in the work force or a reduction in a Regular Employee’s regular hours of work as defined in this Agreement. Layoff Exceptions It is recognizedthat Regular part time Employeeswithin the recreation department who have seasonally adjusted hours shall not be deemed to be laid off except if there is an elimination of the Employee’s position or a reduction of five or more hours per week in their work schedule. Instructors, Program Instructorsand Lifeguard Instructors shall not be deemed to be laid off at the end of sets.
XXXXXXX AND RECALL. 20.01 In the event that an Employee’s job function is discontinued, the Employer shall make every reasonable effort to find the Employee alternate work at the work site. Should no alternate work be available at the work site, the Employee shall be given a six month notice of layoff, during which time the Employer shall make every reasonable effort to place the Employee within Serco. If there is no suitable employment available within Serco, the Employer may lay off the Employee at the end of the six month notice period. An Employee laid off by the Employer shall have the right of recall to the same or suitable positions within the work site in priority over all other individuals.
XXXXXXX AND RECALL. An employee who resigned or was laid off and who is rehired or recalled within twenty-four (24) months from their termination into a position in which he/she held tenure shall return to the same salary step, and vacation accrual rate and shall have his/her original seniority date adjusted for the period when not employed by AHS.
