Youth Outreach. 1. Provide information to six hundred (600) youth in the East Palo Alto community and their family members through presentations to classes, participation at health fairs, and group education sessions. a. Provide prevention education sessions to students at elementary schools in East Palo Alto. Coordinate with Connect Family Resource Center (FRC) to establish guidelines and culturally/age appropriate topics. Presenters will be Contractor’s bilingual outreach team members and/or youth counselors. 2. Provide street outreach to five hundred (500) youth in the East Palo Alto community to increase their awareness of risk behaviors leading to addiction and its consequences and to invite them to participate in prevention activities per fiscal year. 3. Provide five (5) hours per week of problem identification and referral services to youth who may benefit from alcohol and drug treatment or other services in the community.

Youth Outreach. Youth are the future of the community and integrating their concepts and ideas into the General Plan can lead to a more holistic vision. Mintier Harnish will work with City staff, local schools, and local community programs to identify youth leaders to participate in focused youth workshops. The workshops will either be held with the same group of students twice to facilitate an ongoing conversation or will involve two separate groups to broaden the reach of this effort. The workshops will focus on educating young people on the planning process and soliciting their input through engaging activities and discussion.

Youth Outreach. A. Stormwater Classroom Presentations Description: The City will work with ACEPD to implement classroom presentations to youth. ACEPD has developed multiple interactive presentations (Enviroscape, Water’s Journey, Macroinvertebrate investigations, Springs Protection, etc.) which use curriculum standards to address the importance of reducing stormwater pollution and protecting water resources to students of various ages. ACEPD staff will visit classrooms to deliver the Goal- Increase knowledge of why and how to protect our water resources Audience- Students and Educators Action- Continue program development, marketing, and implementation Evaluation- Number of presentations delivered and the number of participants B. Science Night Description: The City will work with ACEPD to partner with one elementary school per a year to conduct age appropriate classroom presentations for every child during the month leading up to Science Night. During Science Night the parents and children are invited to the school to enjoy dinner and educational activities designed to teach about preventing stormwater pollution and protecting water resources. Goal- Increase adult’s and children’s knowledge of why and how to protect our water resources

  • Outreach Not less than 30 days prior to the opening of bids or the selection of contractors, the Agency-Assisted Contractor or Contractor shall:

  • Public Outreach The Sponsor is responsible for development and administration of a public outreach effort to ensure public awareness and involvement in the Project development and delivery process. The Sponsor shall provide a copy of the public outreach plan and all materials documenting the public outreach activities, including public notices, press releases, flyers, etc. to the Authority. The public outreach plan must accompany the first invoice for payment from Sponsor. The materials documenting the public outreach activities must accompany the final invoice for payment from Sponsor.

  • CULTURAL DIVERSITY The Cultural Diversity Requirement generally does not add units to a student's program. Rather, it is intended to be fulfilled by choosing courses from the approved list that also satisfy requirements in other areas of the student’s program; the exception is that Cultural Diversity courses may not satisfy Culture and Language Requirements for B.S. students. For example, COMM 6 – Intercultural Communication, can fulfill (3) units of the Behavioral Science requirement and (3) units of the Cultural Diversity requirement. This double counting of a class may only be done with the Cultural Diversity requirement. Courses in Cultural Diversity may be taken at the lower- division or upper-division level.

  • LABOUR MANAGEMENT RELATIONS 9:01 No employee or group of employees shall undertake to represent the Union at meetings with the Employer without the proper authorization of the Union. The Employer shall not meet with any employee or group of employees undertaking to represent the Union without the proper authorization of the Union. In representing an employee or group of employees, a representative of the Union shall be the spokesperson. In order that this may be carried out, the Union shall supply the Employer with the names of its Officers and representatives. Neither the Union nor the Employer shall be required to recognize such representatives until written notification has been received. 9:02 The Union and the Employer acknowledge the mutual benefit of joint consultation and agree, therefore, that there shall be a joint labour/management committee consisting of three (3) representatives from and selected by each party. There shall be one (1) regularly scheduled Labour/Management Committee meeting in each four (4) month term or semester (January to April, May to August, September to December). In addition, meetings shall be arranged at the request of either party through the Labour Relations Department, by submitting in writing the topics to be discussed. Such meetings shall take place, at a mutually-agreeable time, within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the request for the meeting. Meetings shall not be used to discuss matters which are the subject of a grievance nor to discuss any matters which are, at the time, the subject of collective bargaining. The committee shall function in an advisory capacity only, making recommendations to the Union and/or the Employer with respect to its discussions and conclusions, and shall not have the power to add to or modify the terms of this agreement. A representative of each party shall be designated Co-Chairperson, and the two persons so designated shall alternate in presiding over meetings.
