Crossing Picket Lines. The Company will not expect an employee to cross a picket line, including a picket line at a customer site, if to do so would place the employee's life, limb or personal property in jeopardy.
Crossing Picket Lines. It is hereby agreed between the parties to this Agreement that no employee will be required to enter any building, property or business where a picket line is in evidence, when such picket line is legally established under the Statutes of the Province of British Columbia, it being understood that adequate arrangements will be permitted in cases of emergency.
Crossing Picket Lines. It is hereby agreed between the parties to this Agreement that Employees shall have the right to refuse to cross any picket line, enter any building, property or business where such a picket line is established under the Statutes of B.C. or Canada. Employees so doing shall not incur disciplinary action or harassment as a result of such refusal.
Crossing Picket Lines. (a) In the event that any Employee of the Municipality, other than those covered by this Agreement, engage in a legal strike or where Employees of another Employer in a labour dispute engage in a legal strike and maintain picket lines, the Employees covered by this Agreement shall have the right to refuse to cross such picket lines.
(b) Failure to cross a picket such as that referred to in 3.04 (a) above by the Employees covered by this Agreement shall not be considered a violation of this Agreement, nor shall it be grounds for disciplinary action.
(c) Notwithstanding the foregoing, where the parties agree that a picket line is not to be observed, refusal to cross such a picket line may be grounds for disciplinary action by the Municipality.
(d) In cases of emergency as decided by the Municipality, the Association agrees to waive the right of refusal to cross the picket line as outlined in 3.04 (a) above for the number of Employees required to remedy such emergency.
Crossing Picket Lines. No member of this Union shall be required to cross picket lines established by any other Union, except in the performance of necessary governmental duties as determined by the City Administration. The Union will do nothing to provoke interruptions of or prevent such continuity of performance by said employees, insofar as such performance is required in normal and usual operation of the Employer’s services.
Crossing Picket Lines. The University’s Policy on Crossing of Picket Lines applies to employees. In addition, recognition of picket lines requires that Management and Professional Staff maintain adequate essential services established by the University in consultation with AAPS in order to protect human lives, living collections, basic student services, and basic physical plant services during the period of disruption. The University may refer any dispute about the adequacy of essential services contemplated or provided by Management and Professional Staff to an arbitrator mutually agreed to by the University and AAPS for a binding decision within 12 hours of the referral.
Crossing Picket Lines. The employees covered by this Agreement may refuse to cross a legal picket line maintained during any legal strike. Such action should not be considered grounds for disciplinary action beyond loss of pay for the time absent from duty.
Crossing Picket Lines. An employee shall have the right to refuse to cross a legal picket line. Failure to cross such shall not be considered a violation of the Agreement. Employees losing work time as a result of not crossing a legal picket line will not be paid.
Crossing Picket Lines. Where a teacher feels that their safety is jeopardized by crossing a picket line, the teacher shall contact the Director of Education, or Designate, who in turn will provide for the safety of the employee in reporting for work.
Crossing Picket Lines. Employees may be required to go through picket lines where an emergency requires them to do so to protect the public health, safety, and welfare.
