S eniority definition

S eniority. A worker shall not attain seniority until he/she has completed a probationary period of 6 months in the employ of the employer, after which the time of his/her seniority shall be from the date of hire. Seniority within the unit shall be based on regular hours of paid service. Paid leave counts toward seniority. There shall be only one seniority list of all classifications for the purposes of this contract. The list shall include rank, name, hours of paid service and job title. When computing hours in paid status, all hours accumulated by a permanent employee in temporary positions (other than substitute hours) shall be counted in the computation of hours for the purposes of establishing seniority.
