Accruing Sick Leave. (a) Full-time Employment: Sick leave shall accrue at the rate of eight (8) hours per month of full-time employment. It is understood that RCW 28A.400.300 sick leave is provided for personal illness, injury, emergency leave, and under RCW 49.12.270 sick leave is provided for family care. Appointments with a health care specialist should be scheduled, whenever possible, outside of the employee’s workday. However, if this is not practical, sick leave may be used for appointments with a health care specialist during the work day. Use of sick leave for purposes other than personal illness, injury, emergency, or family care constitutes fraud and may result in dismissal.

Accruing Sick Leave. All regular employees are eligible from their date of hire to accrue and use sick leave as follows: • Full-time regular employees accrue 4.07 hours per pay period. • Part-time regular employees accrue sick leave on a pro-rata basis, depending on the number of hours worked.
Accruing Sick Leave. Employees shall earn sick leave credits at the rate of one-half day per biweekly pay period. An employee shall not earn sick leave credits for any biweekly pay period unless he/she is in full-pay status for at least seven workdays during such biweekly pay period. A part-time, per diem or hourly employee eligible to earn sick leave credits pursuant to Section 9.2(e) shall earn sick leave credits as provided herein, but his total pay when absent on such leave shall be the amount which would have been due him if he/she had worked his/her usual number of hours or days for such period.

(b) School Year Employees in Temporary Positions During the Summer Months: School Year employees who are assigned to work in temporary positions during the summer months when there is no student attendance shall earn sick leave and holiday benefits as follows: i. Employees will earn sick leave credit proportionate to hours worked. The additional earned sick leave hours will be granted at the completion of the temporary assignment. Family Care Emergency Submittal of Request Not Constitute a Gift ii. Employees shall be able to use accumulated sick or emergency leave during scheduled summer work hours, up to a maximum of four (4) days. iii. Employees shall be eligible for holiday pay when the holiday falls within the temporary work schedule, provided the employee is on paid status the scheduled work day before and the scheduled work day after the holiday. iv. Sick leave accrual rates for bus drivers will be adjusted for average hours during the period from November payroll through the May payroll. 6.

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Accrued Sick Leave The Board shall provide all employees with a cumulative record 23 of accrued sick leave hours on each pay statement.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Sick Leave Payment (a) The District shall for all Regular Full-time and Regular Part-time employees who have completed three (3) months continuous employment, subject to the conditions as set forth herein:

  • Sick Leaves a. After the first year of full-time employment, a full-time faculty member who, by reason of personal illness or a medically certified disability is incapable of performing the regular duties of a faculty member, shall be entitled to a sick leave, with full pay (in lieu of contract salary which otherwise would be earned), for a period not to exceed six months. In no event, however, shall the University’s payment for sick leave exceed one-half (1/2) of the faculty member’s then prevailing annual contract salary. If the faculty member receives governmental disability benefits and/or workers’ compensation benefits during the period of absence, the faculty member shall be paid the difference between the benefits received and the benefits provided above.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Twenty (20) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of one and two-thirds for each month of employment in which the employee receives at least ten (10) days pay.
