Adopting Parents Leave. The unit member may use up to five (5) days of personal necessity leave to be 26 engaged in the procedures of legally adopting a child. These procedures include possible necessary 27 travel, receipt of child, and legal responsibilities associated with the adoption.

Adopting Parents Leave. The District shall comply with the requirements of the State Family Care and Medical Leave (CFRA) and Federal Family Care and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) pursuant to applicable State and Federal laws. The interpretation and implementation of these FMLA provisions shall not diminish any contractual benefits afforded all eligible employees. Additional parental leave may be taken through Section 7 above.
Adopting Parents Leave. The District shall provide up to three (3) days of paid leave to an employee for matters pertaining to adoption, including travel, receipt of child, or legal responsibilities associated with an adoption. Adopting parent leave shall not be charged to sick leave.
Adopting Parents Leave. ‌ Once an employee has legal custody of an adopted child, he/she may use up to six (6) consecutive weeks of accrued Sick Leave to bond with the child. If two employees are parents of the adopted child, only one is eligible for Adopting Parents Leave. Additional parental leave may be taken through Section 7 above.

  • Parenting Leave Parenting Leave consists of Maternity Leave and Parental Leave. Parental Leave includes Paternity and Adoption Leave. An employee who qualifies for Maternity Leave may apply for such leave in accordance with Maternity Leave “Plan A” or Maternity Leave “Plan B” but not both.
