Additional Parental Leave. Upon written request, an employee shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay of up to twelve (12) consecutive months in addition to statutory requirements.
Additional Parental Leave. 9.4.2.5.1 Upon written request, a faculty member shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay of up to twelve (12) consecutive months in addition to statutory requirements. Statutory requirements are as follows: - birth mothers 52 weeks - birth fathers 37 weeks - adopting parents 37 weeks
9.4.2.5.1.1 A faculty member shall notify the College with as much notice as possible in advance of the commencement date of the leave.
9.4.2.5.2 Leave taken under this provision shall commence:
9.4.2.5.2.1 for the birth mother, immediately after the end of the leave taken under the pregnancy and parental leave provisions unless the College and the faculty member agree otherwise.
9.4.2.5.2.2 for the birth father, after the child’s birth and within fifty-two (52) weeks of the birth.
9.4.2.5.2.3 for an adopting parent, within fifty-two (52) weeks after the child is placed with the parent.
Additional Parental Leave. 9.6.3.1 An Employee who has accessed parental leave is entitled to up to an additional five (5) consecutive weeks of unpaid leave, beginning immediately after the end of the leave taken if the Employee’s child has a physical, psychological or emotional condition requiring an additional period of parental care.
9.6.3.2 A request for additional parental leave under Article 9.6.3 must:
9.6.3.2.1 be given in writing to the Employee’s Manager;
9.6.3.2.2 be given to the Employee’s Manager at least four (4) weeks before the Employee proposes to begin leave; and
9.6.3.2.3 if required by the Employee’s Manager, be accompanied by a medical practitioner’s or nurse practitioner’s certificate or other evidence of the Employee’s entitlement to leave.
Additional Parental Leave. 14.2.1. In addition to maternity or adoption / parenting leave, teachers may be entitled to a parenting leave without pay or School Division contribution to benefit premiums for up to one (1) year. Such leave must commence immediately following maternity or adoption leave.
14.2.2. Application for such leave must be made no later than three (3) months prior to the commencement of parenting leave.
14.2.3. Parenting leave will terminate at the end of the school year.
a) The School Division shall endeavor to reinstate a teacher returning from parenting leave to the position occupied at the time the leave commenced, or
b) Provide the teacher with alternative work of a comparable nature at not less than the same wages and other benefits that had accrued to the teacher to the date the parenting leave commenced.
Additional Parental Leave. 9.4.2.5.1 Upon written request, a faculty member shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay of up to twelve (12) consecutive months in addition to statutory requirements. For clarity, the combined amount of parental leave under article 9.4.2 will not exceed 104 weeks, regardless of the Employment Insurance parental benefit option elected by the employee.
9.4.2.5.1.1 A faculty member shall notify the College with as much notice as possible in advance of the commencement date of the leave.

9.4.2.5.1.2 for the birth mother, immediately after the end of the leave taken under the maternity and parental leave provisions unless the College and the faculty member agree otherwise.
9.4.2.5.1.3 for the parent, other than the birth mother, after the child’s birth and within
Additional Parental Leave. The employee is entitled to any Additional Parental Leave as outlined in the BC Employment Standards Act Part VI.
Additional Parental Leave. An employee is entitled to a leave without salary of a maximum duration of two (2) years to prolong a pregnancy/maternity, adoption, or parental leave, with seniority continuing to accumulate. During this period the Employer agrees to pay all hospital and medical and group life premiums. Vacation credits will not accrue during the extended period, however the total length of the leave will be counted for future entitlements. The vacation bonus and severance pay entitlement will not be reduced.
Additional Parental Leave. 14.7.1 In the case of maternity leave followed by a 62 week parental leave under Article 11.1, a leave of absence for up to 18 weeks may be granted by the School Division, without pay and without School Division contribution to the benefit plans.
14.7.2 For a teacher who wishes to resume work on the expiration of the leave granted under Article 14.
7.1 the School Division shall:
(a) Reinstate the teacher in the position occupied at the time the leave commenced; or,
(b) If acceptable to the teacher, provide the teacher with alternative work of a comparable nature at no less than the earnings and other benefits that had accrued to the teacher when the maternity or parental leave started. Notwithstanding the foregoing, when staff reduction or program elimination is necessary the School Division may place the teacher in a position of a comparable nature and at no less than the same wages, entitlements and other benefits that had accrued to the teacher to the date that the leave commenced. The teacher shall not have any advantage nor suffer any disadvantage as a result of having been on leave.
Additional Parental Leave. In addition to the parental leave provided in 11:05.4, Teachers shall be eligible for additional parental leave without pay under the following conditions:
a) First Extension Upon request of the Teacher made thirty (30) days prior to the expiry of the leave, the Board shall extend leaves to end during the same school year at the completion of Semester I or the completion of Semester II as chosen by the Teacher.
Additional Parental Leave. 11.5.1. Upon request, a teacher may be entitled to an extended parental leave of absence without pay or School Division contributions to the benefits plan for up to six (6) months beyond the maximum parental leave identified in Clause 11.2.
11.5.2. The extended leave must commence immediately following parental leave under Clause 11.2.
11.5.3. Application for such leave must be made no later than three (3) months prior to the commencement of the extended portion of the parental leave.
