Advanced Degree ProgramA teacher shall be paid on the masters degree lane or higher degree lane only if the degree program is germane to the teaching assignment as approved in writing by the District Human Resources Director.
Advanced Degree ProgramAn employee shall be paid on the master’s degree lane or specialist’s degree lane only if the degree program is germane to the teaching assignment as approved by the superintendent or his/her designee and the degree program is approved in writing by the superintendent or his/her designee in advance.
Advanced Degree Program. 1. Teachers enrolling in an approved college or university program leading to an advanced degree may apply for the Advanced Degree Program. 2. A pool of funds of at least $50,000 for each year of this agreement shall be budgeted for the Advanced Degree Program. 3. The Professional Development Committee in accordance with the FMRSD-SAU 60 Professional Development Master Plan shall administer the Program, including enrollment decisions. The committee, after reviewing the application, shall follow the enrollment procedure found in B-5 above.

Advanced Degree ProgramIn the case that an Employee is enrolled in an advanced degree program (Master's or Doctorate), either in the field of Education or in the field of the Employee's endorsement under which the Employee is currently working, all courses required for completion of that degree shall be automatically approved subject to the dollar amounts shown above and subject to providing documentation from the college or university. In addition, such courses will be automatically approved toward horizontal movement on the salary scale.

A Master’s Degree in educational counseling will be germane to any teaching assignment. “In advance” shall mean within forty-five (45) calendar days after the degree program has been developed by the teachers and his/her college advisor. This provision is only applicable to teachers who have not filed a Master Degree plan prior to February 1, 1976. Any teacher who has filed a Master’s Degree plan prior to this date need not receive prior approval. Any teacher presently on a Master’s lane or higher will not be reduced.

Advanced Degree Program. Clackamas Community College will pay (1/3) of the tuition, to a maximum of $205 per credit, for classified employees who wish to pursue an advanced degree. Documentation of successful completion is required for reimbursement. The maximum cost per credit will be increased by the February Consumer Price Index (CPI) for West Region A, each year. To be eligible for the advanced degree program, employees must have earned a minimum of an Associate degree and must file an approved Professional Development Plan with Human Resources. Employees become eligible for the advanced degree tuition program following the completion of their probationary period.

Staff members changing their teaching fields from a major or minor cannot retain the right of a higher degree on the schedule. Staff members new to the system and holding an advanced degree in a field foreign to the elementary or junior high program cannot expect to be placed on the salary schedule of the advanced degree.
