Allocation of Teaching Hours. By September 15, the Xxxx of Graduate Studies shall issue a Call for Proposals for research pro- fessorships. Faculty applications for research professorships shall be sent to the Xxxx of Graduate Studies not later than October 15 of the academic year proceeding the year in which the research professorship is to be awarded. Applicants shall be screened by a seven (7) member committee composed of three (3) members of the graduate faculty appointed by the Administration, three (3) members of the graduate faculty appointed by the President of the Association, and the Xxxx of Graduate Studies, who shall Chair the committee. The Xxxx of Graduate Studies and the Presi- dent of the Association shall alternate in making their respective appointments and, in doing so, shall ensure that all six colleges are represented on the committee. The Xxxx of Graduate Studies shall announce the names of those faculty members designated Research Professors no later than January 15, and the committee’s decision shall be final and binding. Within ninety (90) days after completion of the Research Professorship, the faculty member shall submit to the Department Chair for transmittal to the college Xxxx and Xxxx of Graduate Studies a report detailing his/her professional activities during the Research Professorship. The report shall be inserted into the member’s official Personnel File. In addition, the faculty members shall provide the Department Chair an abstract of the report for departmental distribution.

Allocation of Teaching Hours. One (1) Teaching Hour (TH) equals one (1) contact hour (50 minutes) of lecture instruction or 1.5 contact hours (75-85 minutes) of institutionally scheduled laboratory instruction each week over a sixteen (16) week semester, in a course listed in the University Catalog or inventory of course offerings. This definition is subject to the exceptions, modifications, and non-lecture equivalencies specified in this Agreement. The Teaching Hours over an academic year shall be a maximum of fifteen (15) hours per semester of instruction and twenty-four (24) per year and a minimum of three (3) hours per semester of instruction and six (6) per year. The actual number of TH will depend on total workload which is a mix of a faculty member’s TH, RH, and SH assignments. Faculty having teaching loads in excess of 15 TH per semester or 24 TH per academic year shall be eligible for overload compensation as described in Article 13.8. Assignment of a teaching load below the minimum stated above may only be made to meet the requirements of an external grant or contract, Research Professorship, or some extraordinary project recommended by the faculty member’s xxxx and shall require the approval of the xxxxxxx. .

  • TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD A. As professionals, teachers are expected to devote to their assignments the time necessary to meet their responsibilities, but they shall not be required to “clock in or clock out” by hours and minutes. Teachers shall indicate their presence for duty by placing their signature and time in the proper column of the faculty “sign-in” roster.

The Committee, having made provisions for paraeducators, will continue to work toward the improvement of this situation.

  • Teaching Loads The range of teaching loads, number of preparations and number of pupil contacts required should provide for effective instruction and meaningful teacher-student interaction. DPS and the Association agree to work together to seek increased state funding to decrease class size. The principal shall report to the CSC, after the roster verification process, the number of students in each class and this will be published in the CSC minutes on the school’s website. For the purposes of this section, a “class” shall be defined as any general education, including electives and model one classes. Upon request, after the roster verification process, the District shall provide the Association with the student information management system data regarding class enrollment.

  • Flexible Working Hours The Employer will, where operational requirements and efficiency of the service permit, authorize experiments with flexible working hours if the Employer is satisfied that an adequate number of Employees have requested and wish to participate in such an experiment.

  • Shortfall of Annual Working Hours There shall be no pay back for shortfall of annual working hours in the shift systems determined in this Agreement.

  • Teaching Load Full teaching assignments shall normally include 12 course credit hours of scheduled teaching per academic quarter. A reassignment of duty, for the equivalent of 3 or 4 credit course, shall be provided during one term of the first academic year to all newly hired tenure track faculty to further their teaching, scholarship and service and to encourage faculty retention. Wherever possible the University will endeavor to arrange teaching schedules that avoid excessive numbers of preparations and recognize evening and/or off-campus assignments. Class sizes will be established and monitored by the appropriate academic xxxx in consultation with division chairs and affected faculty each term.
