Approved Maternity Leave and Parental Leave. The Company will continue the benefits described under this Section 1 of this Group Insurance and Health Care Benefits booklet (except Sickness and Accident) at no cost to you for as long as you are on approved maternity (pregnancy) or parental leave. During a period when an employee is in receipt of maternity top-up benefits or on Parental Leave, the employee may elect to continue to maintain the optional group benefits that the employee made contributions towards immediately prior to taking leave as a result of pregnancy or childbirth or paternity leave. Such optional group benefits shall be paid by the employee in advance by submitting to the company post-dated cheques for the period on leave.
