ASSIGNMENTS, TRANSFERS, VACANCIES. A. The Superintendent of Schools shall make all assignments and transfers within the Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative School District subject to the provisions of this Article and Article XI.

ASSIGNMENTS, TRANSFERS, VACANCIES. A. The District has the right of assignment of employees to fulfill the needs of the District and its students. Employees may request voluntary transfers by submitting the appropriate written documentation. Employees may also be administratively transferred as determined by the District, with the approval of the Superintendent or designee. Notice of an administrative transfer will be given in writing and will normally by provided by the employee’s immediate supervisor. Transfers and/or assignments are grievable. B. The District will post all vacancies at each site and the Central Office where notices are normally posted, and on the District’s employment software. Furthermore, vacancy postings will be distributed via email to all staff within the bargaining unit. Notices of vacancy within the bargaining unit will remain posted for at least five (5) working days. The notice will include the title of the position, minimum requirements, reporting date, application procedure, and the deadline for submission of applications. The job description for the vacancy will be provided with the application except for applications on District software. A vacancy occurs anytime existing positions within the District are vacated and will be re-filled, anytime the District creates a new position by shifting job duties previously assigned to one job position to another, or when a new job position is created. Bargaining unit employees wishing to apply for the vacancy may request a transfer in accordance with District procedures for positions within the same classification or may submit an application for positions in a different classification than that held by the employee. Bargaining unit employees not selected for a transfer will be notified at the same time other unsuccessful applicants are notified. C. Voluntary transfer requests may be considered before new employees are hired; only after all administrative initiated transfers have been assigned. D. An employee may request a copy of his/her job description annually. E. In the event a certified employee will not remain in the current assignment for the current or forthcoming year, the employee will be notified of his/her new assignment. Notice will normally be provided at least five (5) working days prior to the start of the new assignment. F. Classified employees who have any questions with regard to their job description and/or job duties should bring such questions to the employee’s immediate supervisor. G. Educational...

Every employee shall be given the opportunity to Express his/her assignment preference for the following school Year by filling out an “Assignment Preference Form” and if desired, requesting a conference with the Program Administrator. This procedure shall be completed prior to the end of the current school year. Assignments are determined by the Program Administrator by genuinely considering seniority. Notification of tentative assignments shall be provided by July 15.
