Bereavement. An Employee shall be entitled to a leave of absence with regular pay and benefits in the event of the death of a member of her family. (a) For “immediate family” member defined as spouse, common law spouse, same-sex partner, son, daughter, children of the Employee’s spouse, children of common law spouse, step-children, xxxx, brother, sister, father, and mother, 5 consecutive Working Days of paid leave at her regular rate of pay will be given. (b) For “extended family” member defined as father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, grandmother and grandfather, grandparents of the Employee’s spouse, step-mother and step-father, 3 consecutive Working Days of paid leave at her regular rate of pay will be given. (c) Where an Employee’s scheduled vacation is interrupted due to the death of a member of her family, the Employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 16.01(a) or (b). The portion of the Employee’s vacation which is deemed to be bereavement leave shall be rescheduled in accordance with Article 16.04(b). (d) If bereavement leave is required in the event of the death of a person significant to the Employee and not specifically named in Article 16.01(a) or (b), or additional bereavement leave is required in circumstances covered by Article 16.01(a) or (b), it may be granted up to a maximum of 3 days by arrangement with the Employee’s Supervisor. (e) If bereavement extensive travel is required, an additional leave is required in the event of the death of a person significant to the Employee and not specifically named in Article 16.01(a) or (b), or additional bereavement leave is required in circumstances covered by Article 16.01(a) or (b), it may be granted up with pay to a maximum of 3 two (2) days by arrangement with may be granted at the Employee’s Supervisor. Examinations or Convocations A teacher, with the prior approval of the Employee’s spouseappropriate Supervisory Officer or Principal, stepmay be absent from duty without loss of salary by reason of examinations and convocations as follows : i For the purpose of writing examinations, only the half-mother and step-father, 3 consecutive Working Days of paid leave at her regular rate of pay will day period in which the examination occurs shall be given.
(c) Where an Employee’s scheduled vacation is interrupted due granted. In addition to the death of a member of her familyhalf-day mentioned in the foregoing, the Employee one-half day shall be entitled allowed for travel, if necessary, as determined by the appropriate Supervisory Officer or Principal. A half-day period is granted for a teacher to bereavement leave attend own post-secondary graduation ceremony or the post-secondary graduation ceremonies of son, daughter, husband, wife, or In addition to the half-day period mentioned in accordance with Article 16.01(a) or (b). Bereavement. An Employee shall (a) A Faculty Member may be entitled absent from duty without loss of pay not to exceed three (3) duty days, to attend funeral or memorial services or to attend to the affairs of the decedent as a leave of absence with regular pay and benefits in the event result of the death of a member of her the Faculty Member's immediate family. If out-of-state travel or more than 250 miles one-way is required, the leave may be extended to five (5) duty days. At the Faculty Member’s option, bereavement leave may be distributed over a period of six (6) calendar months following the death.
(ab) For “If an additional period of absence from duty is required for this purpose, a Faculty Member may be granted additional bereavement leave, which additional leave shall be charged as personal necessity leave, to the extent such leave is available to the Faculty Member as provided in Section 9 of this Article.

(b) For “extended family” member defined as father-in-law, motherfather-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild of the employee or employee's spouse, the spouse, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, grandmother and grandfather, grandparents law of the Employee’s spouseemployee, step-mother and step-father, 3 consecutive Working Days registered domestic partner or any person living in the immediate household of paid leave at her regular rate of pay the employee. Persons other than relatives as noted herein who may have been reared by or with the employee will be givenconsidered as relatives for bereavement purposes. Under special circumstances, persons other than those noted in this Section may be considered as "immediate family.
(c) Where an Employee’s scheduled vacation is interrupted due to the death of a member of her family, the Employee shall " Faculty will be entitled to granted bereavement leave in accordance with Article 16.01(a) or (b). The portion for these other persons on approval of the Employee’s vacation which is deemed to be bereavement leave shall be rescheduled in accordance with Article 16.04(b)appropriate College Administrator.
(d) If bereavement leave is required in the event of the death of a person significant to the Employee and not specifically named in Article 16.01(a) or (b), or additional bereavement leave is required in circumstances covered by Article 16.01(a) or (b), it may be granted up to a maximum of 3 days by arrangement with the Employee’s Supervisor. (cb) Where an Employee’s scheduled vacation is interrupted due to the death of a member of her their family, the Employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 16.01(a) or (b). The portion of the Employee’s vacation which is deemed to be bereavement leave shall be rescheduled in accordance with Article 16.04(b).
(dc) If bereavement leave is required in the event of the death of a person significant to the Employee and not specifically named in Article 16.01(a) or (b), or additional bereavement leave is required in circumstances covered by Article 16.01(a) or (b), it may be granted up to a maximum of 3 days by arrangement with the Employee’s Supervisor. Such request will not be unreasonably denied.

Bereavement. (a) An Employee shall be entitled to a bereavement leave without loss of absence with regular pay and benefits in the event of the death of a member of her their family., as follows:
(a) For “immediate family” member defined as i. where the death is of the Employee’s spouse, common law spouse, same-sex partner, son, daughter, children of the Employeespouse’s spousechild, children of common law spouse’s child, step-childrenchild, xxxx, brother, sister, father, and or mother, 5 the bereavement leave shall be up to 7 consecutive Working Days of paid leave at her regular rate of pay will be givencalendar days.
(b) For “extended family” member defined as ii. where the death is of the Employee’s father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-in law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, grandmother and grandmother, grandfather, grandparents of the Employeespouse’s spousegrandparent, step-mother and or step-father, 3 the bereavement leave shall be up to 5 consecutive Working Days of paid leave at her regular rate of pay will be givencalendar days.
