BID SHIFT. The Connecticut State Police Department agrees to continue to operate under a mandatory bid shift schedule as detailed in this Article. The bid shift will allow Troopers and Sergeants to bid according to seniority for a shift preference. Thus, officers will bid for their desired shift preference according to seniority except as provided for by other sections of this Article.

BID SHIFT. (a) The Chief of Police or his/her designee shall post a schedule for bidding no later than twenty-one (21) days prior to the effective date of each bidding period. (b) Patrol officers shall bid their shift among the established shifts the first Monday of March, June, September and December in accordance with seniority. Patrol Officers with less than one year of service from the time they completed the Field Training Officer Program (FTO), "Jr. Patrol Officers", shall rotate between A, B, and C squads on the first Monday of March, June, September and December. Once an officer has completed the one year of service after the FTO Program, they will be eligible to bid at the next bidding period. Detectives and Service Division employees will be exempt from bid shift. (c) For Patrol Officers, bid shift seniority will be determined by an officer's starting date as a regular member of the Avon Police Department. For Supervisory personnel, bid shift seniority shall be determined by the order of appointment in rank. If more than one appointment is made on the same date, bid shift seniority will be determined by final ranking from the testing procedure. (d) In the event all bid shift slots are not filled, assignment shall be made in inverse order of seniority. (e) An open slot will remain for officers who have been assigned to special details (for example, the Regional Narcotics Division Task Force). This shall rotate between all three shifts and will not be open for bid by senior officers if the Special Assignment Officer is scheduled to rotate to that squad. (f) An officer’s shift may be changed by the Chief or his/her designee to accommodate training or other definite and demonstrated operational needs of the Police Department. (g) Notwithstanding Article XXVIII, Section 28.8, swaps of longer than a two (2) week duration, "long term swaps", must be approved by the Chief or his/her designee. (h) A copy of the Sergeants' Bid Shift Schedule is included in APPENDIX A of this Contract.
BID SHIFT. A. The employees shall bid their shifts among the established shifts every six (6) months in accordance with seniority. Patrol officers shall bid patrol officer slots and Sergeants shall bid Sergeant slots. B. The sign-up list will be posted one (1) month prior to the effective date, if possible, for sign up. There shall be fifteen (15) days allowed for sign-up. Officers will sign-up by indicating theft first, second and their choice of two (2) shifts. Officers shall work the shifts in one (1) month increments. Once the fifteen (15) days of the sign-up period expire, should there be any officer(s) who have not signed up for a shift, the Chief or his designee may assign the empty slots. The Chief or his designee shall determine the number of positions available for each shift, and will always have at least two (2) officers scheduled for work at the same time.

  • Hour Shift An eight (8) hour tour shall be inclusive of an unpaid one-half (1/2) hour meal period, and two fifteen (15) minute paid relief periods.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Working Day Working Day means a day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday which is observed by the construction industry in the area of the Place of the Work.

  • Day Shift The standard work day will consist of eight (8) hours worked between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with a designated thirty (30) minute lunch period. Starting and stopping times to be determined by mutual agreement between the Company and the shop employees.

  • BID OPENING All duly received bids will be opened immediately after the scheduled closing time of Bids at the same venue. Bidders or their accredited agents could be present at the time of opening of bids.

  • WORKING DAY BEFORE AUCTION DATE Any intending bidder who intends to bid on behalf of another person, body corporate or firm is required to deposit with the Auctioneer prior to the auction sale an authority letter to state that he/she is acting on behalf of another person, body corporate or firm and he/she is authorised to sign all the necessary documents. All intending bidders shall be required to verify their identities by showing to the Auctioneer their identity cards prior to the commencement of the auction, failing which, they shall not be entitled to bid. In the event that the Bumiputra lot is sold to a non Bumiputra or if the successful bidder is below the age of 18 or is an undischarged bankrupt or is not legally competent to purchase the property, then such sale shall be cancelled and the deposit paid shall be refunded to the successful bidder and thereafter the Assignee shall be at liberty to put up the property for sale. A foreign citizen/foreign company may be allowed to bid for the property and if the bid is successful, the sale is subject to the foreign citizen/company applying and obtaining at his/her/its own cost to the Economic Planning Unit (if applicable) and/or relevant State Authority for the unconditional consent to the sale within the period stated in Clause 11 hereof but subject to Clause 22 hereof.

  • National Competitive Bidding Goods estimated to cost less than $250,000 equivalent per contract and works estimated to cost less than $500,000 equivalent per contract, may be procured under contracts awarded on the basis of National Competitive Bidding.

  • Work Shifts Employees shall be scheduled to work on regular work shifts having regular starting and quitting times. Except for emergencies (see Section D), employees' work schedules shall not be changed without written notice to the employee at least five (5) working days prior to the date the change is to be effective.
