Calculation of Sick Leave Credits. Employees earn 96 hours per year or 4 hours credited the first two pay periods of each month if scheduled to work full-time. Credits are pro-rated for part-time employees. Sick leave credits are earned at the end of each of each of the first two (2) pay period of each month. These sick leave credits may not be used until the start of the next bi-weekly pay period. There is no restriction as to the number of hours of sick leave credits that may be accumulated, nor to the number of accrued sick leave credits that may be used for a bona fide employee illness or disability, provided that the qualifying period has been completed.

  • Extension of Sick Leave Unless an employee otherwise requests in writing, an employee who has used up her sick leave credits shall be granted advanced sick leave with pay for a period up to fifteen (15) days subject to the deduction of such advanced leave from any sick leave credits subsequently earned.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.
