Paid Leave (a) An employee who is a volunteer member of the Defence Force Reserves or the Cadet Force is entitled to paid leave of absence for Defence service, subject to the conditions set out hereunder.
Prepaid Leave Permanent Employees will be entitled to take a leave of absence financed through a salary deferral arrangement in accordance with the provisions of the Prepaid Leave Plan set out in Article 44 of this Agreement.
Casual Leave (a) Employees may be granted casual leave with pay to a maximum of two (2) hours for the following purposes:
Sabbatical Leave The purpose of a sabbatical leave is to enhance professional development, support department/unit goals, and/or meet the instructional, service, or research priorities of the university.

Other Paid Leave 1Leave periods outside the Work/Leave Rotation Cycle as per Annex 1, article 3.2 shall not be paid unless required by this Agreement or for other mandatory reasons (“Other Paid Leave Days”). 2When an employee falls sick or suffers an accident during the Leave Period and such sickness or accident prevents him/her from returing to the Work Site in accordance with the Work/Leave Rotation Cycle, he or she has to notify the Company and the Site Manager immediately (article 9.4 para. 7 – 10 shall also apply).
SICK LEAVE AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE Section 1. a. Employees shall be eligible to use paid sick leave after 30 calendar days of service with the Employer. Employees shall earn sick leave as of their date of hire in accordance with the following schedule: Maximum Sick Leave Entitlement Per Year Sick Leave will be 37.5 Hr. Workweek: 82.5 Hrs. Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office.
