Collision Damage Waiver. If you purchase CDW, we waive your responsibility for damage to the Vehicle. CDW does not apply to damage to optional and additional items that we rent to you, such as navigation aids, child safety seats, and supply packages. For rentals commencing in California: Your CDW will be void, and we will not waive your responsibility for loss of or damage to the Vehicle if you provided false or fraudulent information to us and we would not have rented the Vehicle had we received true information, or if damage to the Vehicle results from: (a) your intentional, willful, wanton, or reckless conduct; (b) operation of the Vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol in violation of § 23152 of the California Vehicle Code; (c) towing or pushing anything; (d) operation of the Vehicle on an unpaved road if the damage or loss is a direct result of the road or driving conditions;
Collision Damage Waiver. 14.1 Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces the hirer’s liability for damage under clause 13 to the agreed excess (deductible) subject to the following conditions and exclusions. CDW does not cover damage or loss associated with:
(a) Any of the circumstances detailed in clause 12.3;
(b) Cost of recovering a car that has become bogged or immovable;
(c) Cost of replacement of lost or stolen car keys;
(d) Cost associated with the incorrect use of or contamination of fuel (diesel or petrol);
(e) Cost of repair or replacement of other products detailed in clause 5;
(f) Costs arising under clause 15.
14.2 In the event that the vehicle is replaced under clause 11.3, CDW is not transferable to the replacement vehicle.
Collision Damage Waiver. When renting out a Vehicle to a Cardmember Who iS eligible for the ColliSion Damage WaiVer benefit, the folloWing procedureS Shall be folloWed:
(i) You Shall contact US for AuthoriZation and obtain AuthoriZation for the Estimated Rental Charge only.
(ii) You shall submit the Rental Charge in accordance with the General Terms and ConditionS if the Vehicle iS returned to You undamaged.
(iii) If the Vehicle iS returned damaged, You Shall Submit the Rental Charge in accordance With the General TermS and ConditionS and carry out the folloWing procedure:
(1) Obtain a Written agreement of reSponSibility for the damage from the Cardmember uSing Your oWn damage report form.
(2) GiVe the Cardmember an eStimate for repair of the damage, or Send it to him/her if he/She iS not preSent at the time of the Vehicle’S return.
(3) Either Submit to US a Charge for a reaSonable eStimate for repair or Submit a final Charge When the repair coStS are knoWn.
(4) A Charge Submitted to US in accordance With the procedure in (ii) aboVe iS limited to fiVe hundred US DollarS (US 500) total for all claimS in reSpect of adminiStration feeS, Storage, toWing or loSS of uSe.
(5) Where a reaSonable eStimate for repair haS been Submitted, You Shall obtain additional AuthoriZation if the final Charge exceedS the eStimate by more than ten percent (10%).
(6) You shall support all Charges with documentary evidence to the Cardmember aS they occur to enable the Cardmember to make hiS/her oWn claim. CopieS of all Supporting documentation Shall be retained by You in caSe of non-receipt by the Cardmember.
(7) You Shall adViSe the Cardmember to Submit hiS/her claim directly to: American Express Saudi Arabia, P.O. Box 6624, Riyadh 11452, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The folloWing CardmemberS are eligible for ColliSion Damage WaiVer:
(i) All holderS of US Dollar, Canadian Dollar and Latin American Dollar Cards, i.e. Personal, Gold, Platinum, Optima and Company (“small market”), but not Corporate Card (“large market”).
(ii) Any Cardmember renting a Vehicle for thirty-one (31) dayS or leSS and Who iS coVered for theft or damage.
(i) Vans (except mini vans).
(ii) VehicleS for off-road uSe, i.e. 4-Wheel driVe.
Collision Damage Waiver. You must pay for CDW before you receive the vehicle, or at the start of the rental, for it to be effective. CDW is not insurance. CDW covers only collision damage, unless otherwise required by the laws of the state where the rental occurs. CDW is void, where allowed by law, if a) you fail to call the police to the scene of an accident; b) you fail to report all accidents to us and the police within 24 hours of occurrence or discovery; c) you fail to pay all rental charges when the vehicle is returned or the rental is terminated; or d) the vehicle is driven or used in an unauthorized manner, such as (i) by anyone who is not an authorized driver, or by anyone whose driving license is suspended in any jurisdiction; (ii) by anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol; (iii) by anyone who obtained the vehicle by fraud or misrepresentation; (iv) in furtherance of any illegal purpose or under any circumstance that would constitute a violation of law; (v) to carry persons or property for hire; (vi) to push or tow anything; (vii) in any race, speed test or contest; (viii) to teach anyone to drive; (ix) for carrying dangerous items or contraband; (x) outside the United States or Canada; (xi) when loaded beyond its capacity; (xii) driving faster than road conditions or the legal speed limit allow; (xiii) to transport more passengers than the number of seat belts, or to carry persons outside the passenger compartment; (xiv) to transport children without approved child safety seats as required by law; (xv) to open and use the awning; or (xvi) when the odometer or its seal has been tampered with; or e) you commit a wanton or reckless act with the vehicle, such as by giving the vehicle to a person not authorized by law or by this Agreement.
Collision Damage Waiver. 14.1 Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces the Hirer’s liability for damage under clause 13 to the agreed excess (deductible) in the Application Form (if and when applicable), subject to the following conditions and exclusions. CDW does not cover damage or loss associated with:
a. Any of the circumstances detailed in clause 12.3;
b. Cost of recovering a car that has become stuck or immovable;
c. Cost of replacement of lost or stolen car keys;
d. Cost associated with the incorrect use of or contamination of fuel (diesel or petrol or the electrical fuel-equivalents);
e. Cost of repair or replacement of other products detailed in clause 5;
f. Costs arising under clause 15.
14.2 In the event that the vehicle is replaced under clause 11.3, CDW is not transferable to the replacement vehicle. For without doubt, a separate vehicle insurance policy and CDW must be purchased prior to usage of the replacement vehicle (if applicable).

Collision Damage Waiver. No cardholder wants to incur the expense of repairing or replacing a rented car. But accidents do happen, and vehicles do get stolen. You are involved in a fender xxxxxx with Your Rental Vehicle Call the Benefits Administrator to report the accident and receive a claim form Claim settled No matter what happens to Your rental car, You can be covered with Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver. Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver reimburses You for damages caused by theft or collision – up to the Actual Cash Value of most rented cars. Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver covers no other type of loss. For example, in the event of a collision involving Your rented vehicle, damage to any other driver’s car or the injury of anyone or anything is not covered. Rental periods of fifteen (15) consecutive days within Your country of residence, and thirty-one (31) consecutive days outside it, are both covered. (Longer rental periods, however, are not covered.) You are eligible for this benefit if Your name is embossed on an eligible card issued in the United States and You use it to initiate and complete Your entire car rental transaction. Only You as the primary car renter and any additional drivers permitted by the Rental Car Agreement are covered.
Collision Damage Waiver. If You accept CDW (as shown at “Collision Damage Waiver” on the agreement) Your liability per claim, pursuant to Clause 7, is limited to the amount shown on the front of the agreement as “Insurance Excess” provided that:
i) if the Vehicle is used, operated or driven in violation of any of the provisions of this agreement You will be liable for all such loss or damage.
ii) in the event of the Vehicle being damaged as a result of falling asleep at the wheel, operating a mobile phone or electronic device whilst driving, driving the wrong way on any road or carriageway, failing to clear trees, bridges or other overhead objects You will in all circumstances be fully liable.
iii) in the event that damage is caused to the Vehicle’s tyres by punctures, cuts, bursts, as a result of being operated whilst under inflated or flat or as a result of the application of brakes, You will in all circumstances be fully liable.

Collision Damage Waiver. Special notice for rentals commencing in California and Nevada: You are responsible for all collision damage to the rented vehicle even if someone else caused it or the cause is unknown. You are responsible for the cost of repair up to the fair market value of the vehicle, loss of use where allowed by law, and towing, storage and impound fees. Your own insurance, or the issuer of the credit card you used to pay for the car rental transaction, may cover all or part of your financial responsibility for the rented vehicle. You should check with your insurance company, or credit card issuer to find out about your coverage. If you use a credit card that provides coverage for your potential liability, you should check with the issuer to determine if you must first exhaust the coverage limits of your own insurance before the credit card coverage applies. We will not hold you responsible if you buy CDW, but CDW will not protect you for loss or damage under certain unauthorized and prohibited uses listed in this Agreement. The cost of optional CDW is $20.00 per night. In California and Nevada, the purchase of CDW is optional. In Nevada, the law requires that any driver of a passenger car and any passenger 5 years of age or older, wear a safety belt if one is available for that seating position. Special notice for rentals commencing in Colorado: THIS CONTRACT OFFERS, FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE, A COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER TO COVER YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. YOU ARE ADVISED NOT TO SIGN THIS WAIVER IF YOU HAVE RENTAL VEHICLE COLLISION COVERAGE PROVIDED BY CERTAIN GOLD OR PLATINUM CREDIT CARDS OR COLLISION INSURANCE ON YOUR OWN VEHICLE. BEFORE DECIDING WHETHER TO PURCHASE THE COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER, YOU MAY WISH TO DETERMINE WHETHER YOUR OWN VEHICLE INSURANCE AFFORDS YOU COVERAGE FOR DAMAGE TO THE RENTAL VEHICLE AND THE AMOUNT OF THE DEDUCTIBLE UNDER YOUR OWN INSURANCE COVERAGE. THE PURCHASE OF THIS COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER IS NOT MANDATORY AND MAY BE WAIVED.
