Compensation for Other Possible Chair. Responsibilities - It is anticipated that department/program Chairs may be responsible for items beyond those outlined in the College’s Department Chair Duties policy (INST-115). The‌ specific duties of each Chair position are subject to variation and will be assessed and defined by the appropriate xxxx or managing supervisor. These responsibilities will be mutually agreed upon in writing before the election or appointment of the chair. The following table establishes the maximum annual value in clock hours for Other Possible Chair Responsibilities. Other Responsibilities Maximum Work Hours 1 Participate in development of articulation agreements and activities with K-12 and higher education institutions 9 hours max. Build community relationships for internship partnerships and other student opportunities 2 Conduct student recruitment activities (e.g., health fairs, high school visits, nurse camp, virtual/in-person information sessions) 18 hours max. Coordinate robust education planning day activities (see current list of committees and engagement activities listed on the HR Hub. 3 Evaluate student scores and transcripts as related to permission codes, milestone, and course recommendations 21 hours max. Assist with quarterly review of department syllabi Manage end of program degree/certificate applications and worksheets 4 Collaborate with faculty to recommend library and educational material acquisition 6 hours max. Collaborate with department/program faculty and administrative staff to ensure timely compliance with textbook adoptions 5 Direct or supervise part time-time STAFF, including tutors, work- study, science laboratory technicians, art studio technicians, music accompanists, and others 6 hours max. Coordinate and support the maintenance/repair of equipment Coordinate and support accurate inventory of supplies/equipment Compensation for the additional responsibilities will be calculated as follows: 21 work hours = 1 instructional contact hour of reassigned time Sum of annual work hours is divided by 21 and the result rounded up to the nearest tenth
