Cooperating Teacher Personal Leave Day. A university student-teacher or intern is a university student completing a full-time student teaching or full-time internship required by their university for degree completion. The student-teacher or intern will be assuming all the roles of their cooperating teacher/professional employee at some point during their placement with the district. These placements are typically a minimum of 6-weeks. All university student-teachers or interns must be pre-approved for placement by the superintendent and/or their designee before placement within the district. University students who are doing observations or practicum work in the district are not considered by the district to be student-teachers/interns. A Professional Employee who hosts a university student-teacher or intern will earn one (1) Cooperating Teacher Personal Leave Day for each semester they host a university student-teacher or intern. Cooperating Teacher Personal Leave has the same restrictions as Personal Leave listed above.

These leaves may be extended by the PVPAA upon recommendation of the xxxx for up to one (1) year.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible.
