Defence Reservists Leave for Peacetime Training. Deployment An employee will be entitled to: • four weeks (20 working days or 28 calendar days) leave on full pay each year for Reservists undertaking Defence servicean additional 2 weeks paid leave for Reservists' to attend recruit/initial employment retraining • additional leave for Defence service, either on a paid, unpaid or top-up pay basis, such leave will be not unreasonably withheld • retain their tax-free Reserve salary • accumulate the Defence leave entitlements which can be taken over a 2 year period • have leave taken with or without pay or on top-up pay, count as service for all purposes with the exception that a period or periods of leave without pay in excess of six months does not count as service for annual leave purposes • continued access to other components of their remuneration package, eg. superannuation (subject to the rules of the CSS, PSS and Military Superannuation and Benefits Scheme), studies assistance, salary reviews, cars, during periods of defence service. Defence Reservists Leave shall count as service for all purposes. ANSTO is committed to keeping Reservists who are absent from the workplace on Reserve service abreast of developments regarding agreement-making negotiations and affording them the opportunity to participate in any ballot on a proposed Certified Agreement where their employment is or will be subject to the Agreement.
