DEFENCE LEAVE. 34.1 An employee will be granted leave to enable the employee to fulfil Australian Defence Force (ADF) Reserve and Continuous Full Time Service (CFTS) or Cadet Force obligations in accordance with the below provisions.
DEFENCE LEAVE. (a) Defence Leave may be granted to enable officers to engage in full-time defence service, in defence service training as members of the Defence Reserve, and in employment in the interests of national defence, as follows: Leave on recruitment or for initial training as a member of the Defence Reserve will be up to 2 weeks with pay. Leave to undertake training as a member of the Defence Reserve may be granted with pay up to a maximum of 28 calendar days in a year commencing 1 July and ending 30 June. Leave other than for training may be granted with or without pay.
DEFENCE LEAVE. (a) Defence leave applies to employees who are members of the Australian Defence Forces and attend authorised military training camps or parades.
DEFENCE LEAVE. The Employer will grant leave to an Employee who is a member of the Defence Force Reserves for defence service. Reservists may apply to the Chief Executive Officer for up to two weeks paid leave per calendar year. Appropriate evidence is to be provided with any such request.

DEFENCE LEAVE. Staff who are members of the Defence Reserve will be granted unpaid leave of absence for the purpose of attending annual naval, military, or airforce training, as follows: for the annual camp - up to fourteen (14) days (including Saturdays and Sundays) plus a further four (4) days on the certification of the Commanding Officer of the particular unit that the additional days are necessary, e.g. for advance and rear parties; where agreed by the Chief Executive Officer, for attendance at one school, class, or course of instruction annually - up to two weeks without pay (including Saturdays and Sundays). Such leave will not be deducted from annual leave.
DEFENCE LEAVE. 48.1 General A Staff Member may be granted leave (with or without pay) to enable the Staff Member to fulfil Australian Defence Force (ADF) Reserve and Continuous Full Time Service (CFTS) or Cadet Force Obligations. Defence Reserve Leave counts as service for all purposes, except for unpaid leave to undertake CFTS. Unpaid leave for the purpose of CFTS counts as service for all purposes except Annual Leave accruals.
