DEFINITIONS AND CONDITIONS. INCOME BASE Your Income Base is equal to your initial Contribution and will increase or decrease, as follows: 1) your Income Base increases by the dollar amount of any subsequent Contribution, 2) your Income Base may be increased by an "Annual Step-Up" or "Deferral Bonus", and 3) your Income Base may be reduced by withdrawals that exceed your Guaranteed Annual Payment amount ("Excess Withdrawals") as described below. GUARANTEED ANNUAL PAYMENT AMOUNT Your Guaranteed Annual Payment amount is equal to the Applicable Percentage of the Income Base as shown in the Data Pages. Your Guaranteed Annual Payment amount may increase or decrease, as follows: 1) your Guaranteed Annual Payment amount will increase to the Applicable Percentage of your Income Base that is increased by any subsequent Contribution, 2) your Guaranteed Annual Payment amount will increase to the Applicable Percentage of your Income Base that is increased by an "Annual Step-Up" or "Deferral Bonus", and 3) your Guaranteed Annual Payment amount may be reduced by Excess Withdrawals as described below. To the extent so provided in the Data Pages, Guaranteed Annual Payments may be taken through an Automatic Payment Plan we offer. If you take less than the Guaranteed Annual Payment amount in any Contract Year, you may not add the remainder to your Guaranteed Annual Payment amount in any subsequent Contract Year. If Subsequent Contributions are permitted in the Data Pages, once any withdrawal is made, no subsequent Contributions may be made. ANNUAL STEP-UP Your Income Base is recalculated on each Contract Date Anniversary to equal the greater of (i) the Annuity Account Value or (ii) the prior Income Base. If the Income Base is increased by such recalculation, your Guaranteed Annual Payment amount will be increased as of the next Contract Year following such Contract Date Anniversary to equal your Applicable Percentage multiplied by your new Income Base. If on the Contract Date Anniversary your Income Base would be eligible for both an Annual Step-Up and a Deferral Bonus, only one of them will be applied, as described below under "Deferral Bonus". The existence of this system will not prevent the Employer from using employee testing, physical examinations, or other means of better determining the qualifications and abilities of its maintenance employees. Qualifications for job openings, except for machinists and painters and section persons, shall include a requirement that the successful bidder must establish their permanent residence within 45 road miles from the section house within 30 calendar days of the effective date of the appointment and that the successful bidder must have a telephone or reasonable access to a section house. D. Qualifications for Section Person openings will include a requirement that the successful applicant establish their permanent residence within 30 road miles from the section house within 30 calendar days of the effective date of appointment and that the applicant have a telephone or reasonable access to the section headquarters. E. Employees may request an extension of time to move in accordance with MDT policy. F. The factors used for making selections for equipment upgrades shall be implemented on a fair and equal basis in all areas covered by this bargaining unit Agreement. G. If the job description requires a CDL, within 30 calendar days of hire, proof of all CDL requirements under said job description will be required for continued employment. If an employee is unable to acquire the full CDL licensure within 30 days due to testing limitations, the employee must notify the Maintenance Chief, who may grant an extension.
