Driver Duties. During regular paid work hours within the driver’s regular job assignment, a driver is expected to use non-driving paid time to attend to duties which are reasonably connected with his/her job. However, if a driver has no paid time remaining after a route has been driven, the District will pay the driver his/her regular rate of pay to complete duties which are reasonably connected with his/her job, which include, but are not limited to, the following: • Pre-trip inspection* • Post-trip inspection* • Student behavior write-ups • On-bus video review • Returning forgotten item left by student • Fueling the bus • Sweeping the bus* • Bilingual translation services for the District • No-child-left-on-bus inspection* • Mandatory meetings with the District • Delivery of bus for mechanical servicing and • Route adjustment/review meetings with the District. * NOTE: All of the above duties without an asterisk require prior authorization for compensation if outside regular paid work hours. However, for those duties with an asterisk, it is assumed that such duties will be completed within the regular paid work hours of the driver’s regular job assignment. If there are special circumstances as a result of which these duties are not completed within the regular paid work hours of the driver’s regular job assignment, prior authorization for payment must be obtained in order to qualify for additional compensation.

Driver Duties. 21.1 Drivers must comply with directions given by the employer as they relate to the: a) National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (Mass & Maintenance) b) - Trucksafe Accreditation c) - Transitional Fatigue Management Scheme and d) - Western Australian Heavy Vehicle Accreditation e) – Driver Fatigue Management Plans where required. 21.2 Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action which could lead to termination of employment 21.3 Up to date copies of these regulations are available at the Toowoomba office of Xxxxxxx’x Transport Pty. Ltd. Any variations and updates will be advised to all Drivers. 21.4 Drivers must also be aware that Audits will be conducted of their driving and their vehicles and that may include road intercepts.
Driver Duties. A. The success of the UCSC Vanpool Program relies on the cooperative relationship between its passengers, DRIVERS and TAPS Staff. Each participant must take personal responsibility to work together to resolve conflicts, and reasonably meet the individual needs of all participants and the Vanpool Program requirements. Refer to Section VIII. for Complaint and Conflict Resolution. Participation in the program is a privilege and not a benefit of employment or enrollment at the UNIVERSITY and TAPS reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone. DRIVERS who abuse their vanpool privilege by not following policies and procedures may be suspended from, or lose their eligibility to participate in the Vanpool Program.
Driver Duties. The driver of each bus utilized shall be in complete control of his/her bus and shall have the right to deviate from the route set forth in this itinerary where the driver determines that the deviation is necessary for the safety or comfort of the group.

TAPS develops equitable policies and assists with limited conflict resolution, but ultimately it is the responsibility of participants to work together to resolve minor issues. • Ensure daily operation of the vanpool with the assistance of back-up drivers according to the UNIVERSITY annual calendar. • Complete a safety check before operating the van as prescribed by law • Always use seatbelts when operating the van and advise all passengers to use seatbelts. • Maintain a list of all passengers and allow only passengers who have paid and have clearance from UNIVERSITY to ride the vanpool. • Keep a daily log of riders, mileage and other records as required by UNIVERSITY. • Furnish a secure overnight parking place for the van. (Preferably off-street.) • Lock and remove keys when the van is unattended. • Take the van to Fleet Services to be fueled. • Submit the following paper work to UNIVERSITY by the tenth day of the month. a) Mileage log from previous month b) Daily passenger ridership rosters • DRIVER will schedule and make van available for monthly cleaning at UCSC Fleet Services by contacting 831-459-2228. • Take van to Fleet Services every 6000 miles for preventative maintenance as required by the State of California. • Take the van to Fleet Services immediately for safety related issues (i.e. burned out head-light, non-functioning turn indicator, etc.) or for any mechanical problems. • Contact passengers and UNIVERSITY as soon as possible in case of any break in vanpool service. • Attend Driver meetings as scheduled. • Train passengers on use of the bike rack and ensure that racks are secure before the van is in motion. DRIVER is not responsible for loading or unloading passenger bikes.

  • Higher Duties Where any Employee on any day performs two or more classes of work to which different rates of pay are applicable, the Employee shall be paid at the higher hourly rate for the day if the Employee is required to work at that class of work for two (2) hours or more, and if for less than two (2) hours during any one (1) day the Employee will be paid the higher rate for the time so worked.
