EI Compassionate Care Leave. Employees who meet the criteria of the Employment Insurance Compassionate Care Benefits programfamily member is gravely ill with a significant risk of death within twenty-six (26) weeks and employee wishes to provide care to that individual – may request a leave of absence without pay for the eight (8) week period they are receiving EICC benefits through Employment Insurance (two [2] week waiting period and six [6] weeks of benefits). For an EICC leave, employees are not expected to use vacation entitlements before being granted the unpaid leave. Such leave requests will not be unreasonably denied. Once EICC leave has concluded, if Employees require additional time to care for the same family member, they may request additional time off to be covered by either earned banks or leave without pay. Such leave requests will not be unreasonably denied.

  • Compassionate Care Leave (a) Compassionate care leave will be granted to an employee for up to eight (8) weeks within a twenty-six (26) week period to provide care or support to a family member who is at risk of dying within that 26-week period in accordance with section 49.1 of the Employment Standards Act, 2000.

  • Medical Care Leave An Employee who is unable to make the necessary arrangements for maintenance of personal health care outside of scheduled work time, shall be granted time off with pay. Such time off shall not exceed sixteen (16) working hours per calendar year. Hours in excess of sixteen (16) hours per calendar year shall be deducted from the Employee's sick leave accumulation.

  • Bereavement/Compassionate Leave 21.1 Employees (excluding casual employees) shall be entitled to a maximum of two days without loss of pay on each occasion and on production of satisfactory evidence of the death or near death in Australia of the employee’s partner, father, mother, brother, sister, child, stepchild or parents-in-law.

  • Childcare Leave Every employee who has served the Company for at least three months and who has a child below the age of seven (7) years shall be entitled to the prescribed number of days of paid childcare leave in a year in accordance with the relevant provisions in the Children Development Co-Savings Act or the Employment Act, as the case may be.

  • Family Care Leave In accordance with RCW 49.12 and WAC 296-130, employees shall be allowed to use any or all of their choice of sick leave or other paid time off to care for a family member (as defined above) who has a serious health condition or an emergency condition. Employees shall not be disciplined or otherwise discriminated against because of their exercise of these rights.
