Emergency Leave. Non-probationary employees may take an automatic emergency leave of absence not to exceed two (2) weeks in the event of certified, serious illness or injury of the employee, or serious illness, injury or death in the employee’s immediate family without prior notice; provided that the employee makes every reasonable effort to notify the Employer within twenty-four (24) hours of the commencement of said leave. Said two (2) weeks automatic emergency leave of absence shall be a part of the time limits set forth in Paragraph 2 below.
