Faculty Participation. Faculty participation in online teaching shall be subject to mutual agreement between the University and the faculty member unless otherwise specified in the hiring agreement for the individual faculty member. Faculty hired with the expectation of teaching in online programs, as specified in their initial hiring agreement, will be evaluated according to teaching responsibilities for online courses. No member of the bargaining unit will arbitrarily have workload reduced, eliminated or consolidated to accommodate electronic technologies. The decision by a faculty member not to participate in online teaching courses will not be used in an evaluative manner.

Faculty Participation. Faculty participation in distance education shall be subject to mutual agreement between the University and the faculty member. Faculty Participation. B.2.1 The academic staff members with faculty rank of the department meeting in committee shall recommend to the xxxx/director the priorities and procedures whereby candidates shall be sought, assessed and recommended for appointment. A reasonable number of academic staff members with faculty rank of a department shall participate in an advisory role in the search process.
Faculty Participation. The Employer shall involve the Faculty in the development of policies having a direct relationship to their interests or professional mission as outlined in the following sections: A. PARTICIPATION IN COLLEGE STANDING COMMITTEES 1. There shall be appropriate Faculty representation on all College standing committees whose activities are related directly to the interests or professional mission of the Faculty. Faculty representatives serving on standing committees shall be elected at large by the Faculty in elections conducted by the Federation. Any Faculty member may place his name in nomination following Federation procedure for this process. 2. If the Employer does not accept the recommendation of a standing committee, it shall forward the reasons for such action in writing to the chairperson of the committee involved. In any opinion rendered by a standing committee, provision shall be made for minority opinion. The President of the Federation may request an opinion of a standing committee by submitting such a request in writing to the chairperson of the committee. 3. Each standing committee shall have access to all non-confidential materials which are pertinent to its deliberations. 4. Each standing committee may use consultants as their need is determined, provided the use of consultants shall not obligate the committee or Employer financially beyond the amount budget by the Employer for such expenses. 5. Each standing committee shall be provided with adequate secretarial help and shall be provided with centrally located files for committee correspondence and records. 6. Faculty will be paid a maximum of four (4) hours per month at their respective overload rate for service on the Curriculum Committee, based on actual attendance. 7. Faculty will be paid a maximum of four (4) hours per month at their respective overload rate for service on the Assessment Committee, based on actual attendance.
Faculty Participation. The Employer agrees that faculty members shall be allowed to participate in the development of the College budget through the appropriate administrative channels.
Faculty Participation. The Administration recognizes the desirability and need for regular consultation with the faculty in areas of mutual interest. Therefore, the Administration will meet with the All Schools’ Council to discuss any issue or policy relating to the Schools, which may be of concern to either the Administration or the Faculty. Such meetings will be planned in advance and held at least quarterly and shall be subject to the provisions of Article IV. The Director and Faculty Association shall establish a representative Steering Committee whose members shall plan and provide leadership for all meetings. The Administration and Faculty Association agree that there is an appropriate role for the faculty in the decision-making processes of the Laboratory Schools. Furthermore it is agreed that is useful to describe the responsibilities of the various faculty bodies and leadership positions, as well as to articulate the processes by which the faculty participates in decision-making. These responsibilities and processes are included in the annually updated Faculty Handbook. Appropriate administrative and faculty representatives shall decide upon modifications or changes of the processes.
Faculty Participation. 1. One faculty member each from UMass and UPRM will serve as co-chair of the student's dissertation committee. 2. The UPRM faculty co-chair will work closely with the PhD Student supervising their research and serving as their primary mentor. 3. UPRM faculty members must become members of the UMass ECE Graduate Faculty in order to serve as either a co-chair or as a member of the student's dissertation committee. To apply for graduate faculty status at UMass, UPRM faculty will state their interest in writing to the head of the UMass ECE Department along with a current curriculum vitae. Graduate faculty appointments are recommended by the Head of ECE and approved by the Xxxx of the Graduate School. 4. Other UPRM faculty may also elect to become graduate faculty members at UMass and serve on the student's dissertation committee. 5. UPRM dissertation committee members must be willing to travel to the UMass Amherst campus to attend both the student's oral PhD comprehensive exam and PhD dissertation defense.

Faculty Participation. 11.1. In each Department, Adjunct Faculty may elect one or two Adjunct Faculty representatives. These two adjunct representatives may participate in Department meetings at which there will be discussion of topics relevant to Adjunct Faculty. Adjunct Faculty shall not attend Department meetings at which any matters related to personnel will be discussed. Attendance by Adjunct Faculty is entirely voluntary.
Faculty Participation. 8.1 Upon request of the CFA there may be convened a meeting with the President and a CFA representative. Such meetings may occur monthly at the request of either party, or more often by mutual agreement. The purpose of the meeting shall be to discuss topics of mutual interest to the University community. CFA shall submit an agenda of matters it seeks to discuss at the time of its request. 8.2 Each campus shall establish a joint labor/management committee, which shall be composed of three (3) representatives employed at the campus from each party. This committee shall meet at least once during each academic term, at times and dates mutually agreeable to the parties. The committee’s agenda shall be limited to discussing matters related to the interpretation and application at the campus of the provisions of the Agreement between the parties. The parties shall notify each other of the issues that they desire to discuss at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled meeting date.
