Floating Holiday Observance. Regular employees may individually, with the approval of the department head, take such holiday on the date of the holiday, on the day preceding the holiday in the case of holidays which fall on a Saturday, or the day following the holiday in the case of holidays which fall on a Sunday, or may accumulate up to forty eight hours of floating holiday time to be used at a deferred date. Such floating holiday time off shall be scheduled at a time mutually agreeable to the employee and the department head. County offices and departments shall remain open for business on any day deemed to be a floating holiday and employees who elect to accumulate floating holiday time shall receive their regular compensation for working on the holiday. Any regular employee whose regularly scheduled day off falls on a floating holiday shall accrue floating holiday time as provided in this Section.

Related to Floating Holiday Observance

  • Holiday Observance When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed as the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as the holiday.

  • Floating Holiday In each fiscal year covered by the term of this Memorandum each eligible employee available for a duty assignment on July 1, (as defined in Personnel Regulation H-2) shall accrue credit for hours of holiday time equal to the hours worked in the employee’s shift up to ten (10) hours. Each employee accruing such time shall comply with the following conditions:

  • Floating Holidays In addition to the authorized days in 9.2. each employee, including each academic employee, shall be authorized two (2) floating holidays of his/her choice per fiscal year.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Sunday Premium All hours worked by an Employee on Sunday, shall be paid for on the basis of one and one-half times the Employee’s Regular Rate of Pay. For the purpose of this Section, Sunday shall be deemed to be the twenty-four (24) hours beginning with the shift change hour nearest to 12:01 a.m.

  • Monday morning (2) The employee should not work more than 16 hours without an 8 hour break.

  • Monday CASE II An employee should not work more than 16 hours and must take an 8 hour break before continuing work. Therefore, an employee called in at 7:00 p.m. Sunday could work until 11:00
