Floating Holiday Time Sample Clauses

Floating Holiday TimeIn addition to the above, a full-time employee shall be entitled to a floating holiday hour bank on the following basis: (a) the employee shall accumulate 0.538 hours per pay period, (b) there shall be no payout of the floating holiday bank, (c) there shall be no limit to the accumulation of hours.
Floating Holiday Time. Employees are provided with 35 hours of Floating Holiday Time in July of each year (prorated for new-hires following completion of six (6) months of full-time/continuous service). This time off is used by the employee with the approval of their supervisor. Employees may cash-out up to 35 hours of Floating Holiday Time, one time per fiscal year, in one set number of hours, payable at the employee’s existing base rate of pay at the time of request. Payment will be made with the regular payroll check run nearest the request of the cash-out (requires minimum of 10 working days prior to request). Any remaining Floating Holiday Time will be paid out in the final payroll check of each fiscal year. Except for employees retiring from the City, employees resigning or separating from employment will have Floating Holiday Time credited on a prorated basis (2.916 hours per month), and amounts used/cashed-out in excess of those they qualify for are owed back to the City upon separation. The difference will be deducted from the employee’s final check(s), or in the event that sufficient funds are not available, the employee will be responsible to pay back the City within 14 calendar days from the date of separation.
Floating Holiday Time. Following completion of six (6) months of continuous full-time City service, an employee will be credited with 3-1/2 days (35 hours) of Floating Holiday Time. Thereafter, employees are credited with 3-1/2 (35 hours) floating holidays in July of each year. Employees will be permitted use of floating holiday time or conversion of said holiday time to cash in accordance with the provisions set forth in this Memorandum of Understanding and established City policies. (Refer to Holiday Pay section.) Except for employees retiring from the City, employees resigning/separating from employment will have Floating Holiday Time credited on a prorated basis (2.916 hours per month), and amounts used/cashed out in excess of those they qualify for are owed back to the City upon separation. The difference will be deducted from the employee’s final check(s), or in the event that sufficient funds are not available, the employee will be responsible to pay back the City within 14 calendar days from the date of separation.
Floating Holiday Time. A. In a good faith effort to further its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, the Library will provide employees with paid time off beyond the holidays historically recognized in collective bargaining agreements. Doing so increases the opportunity for employees to use paid time off on days that may have personal, cultural, religious, or other significance to them (e.g. religious holidays, Women’s Equality Day, Pride Day, Veterans Day, Cinco xx Xxxx, National Indigenous Peoples Day). B. Full-time employees who are employed as of January 1 of any year during this Agreement will be granted sixteen (16) hours of Floating Holiday Time on the last pay date of each calendar year for use in the following calendar year. A full-time employee hired after January 1 of any year but on or before October 31st of that year will be granted eight (8) hours of Floating Holiday Time to be used during the balance of that calendar year. The Floating Holiday Time benefit will be pro-rated for part-time employees. C. For calendar year 2022 only, full-time employees employed as of January 1, 2022 will be granted sixteen (16) hours of Floating Holiday Time on April 1, 2022 or the effective date of the Agreement, whichever is later. Said benefit shall be pro-rated for part-time employees. D. Floating Holiday Time will be tracked as a separate accrual from vacation, sick leave, compensatory time, and holiday comp time and may be used by an employee prior to the use of these other forms of accrued paid time. E. Floating Holiday Time may be used in minimum increments of one (1) hour and use is subject to approval of the Library so that it does not interfere with the operation of the Library. F. Floating Holiday Time must be used within the calendar year and is not carried over to the following calendar year. Floating Holiday Time will not be paid out upon separation from employment.

Related to Floating Holiday Time

  • Floating Holiday All employees except intermittent, emergency, and temporary employees shall also receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement. However, seasonal employees shall be eligible for only one (1) floating holiday per season and intermittent employees shall receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement if they complete ninety-one (91) working days in that fiscal year. Unless waived by the supervisor, the employee must request the floating holiday at least fourteen (14) calendar days in advance. The Appointing Authority may limit the number of employees that may be absent on any given day subject to the operational needs of the Appointing Authority. Any conflicts for requested holidays shall be resolved on the basis of State Seniority within the employee's work unit. The Appointing Authority shall make a reasonable effort to approve the requested holiday. Floating holidays may not be accumulated. An employee who has not requested the floating holiday by March 1 of each fiscal year or by thirty (30) calendar days prior to the end of an employee's season shall be scheduled to take a floating holiday on a day chosen by the Appointing Authority or be paid for the floating holiday in cash at the option of the Appointing Authority.

  • Floating Holidays In addition to the authorized days in 9.2. each employee, including each academic employee, shall be authorized two (2) floating holidays of his/her choice per fiscal year.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Monday morning The employee should not work more than 16 hours without an 8 hour break.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Paid Holiday Bank Employees qualify in accordance with the collective agreement. The paid holidays are identified in the Collective Agreement. Credit to the paid holiday bank will occur on the date of the holiday. Drawing from the paid holiday bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours paid for every hour taken (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid).

  • Sunday Premium Any employee who is required to work at any time on a Sunday shall be paid a Sunday premium in addition to their regular hourly rate of pay in the amount of seventy-five (75¢) cents per hour, for each such hour and portion of an hour worked. Sunday premium pay shall not be added to an employee's hourly rate of pay for the purpose of computing overtime. The provisions of this Article shall not apply to the “in charge” employees referred to in sub-articles 23.03 and 23.04 of this Agreement.

  • Monday An employee should not work more than 16 hours and must take an 8 hour break before continuing work. Therefore, an employee called in at 7:00 p.m. Sunday could work until 11:00

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall be a Saturday or a Sunday or shall be a legal holiday in the State of New York, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding day not a legal holiday.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.
