Hazardous Materials Team. Section 1. As positions open up on the hazardous materials team, they shall be filled from among personnel who have expressed an interest based on seniority in grade in accordance with Article 36, interest applications shall be solicited once per year. If specialized training is required, those individuals selected for the new position shall be sent for the appropriate training by the City. The City will maintain three (3) on-going lists in the classifications Firefighter, Engineer and Lieutenant with at least two (2) interested applicants in each classification.
Section 2. If training slots are available to excess of those necessary for the Hazardous Materials Team members, individuals with seniority on the interest list shall have priority for such training in accordance with Article 36. The City shall use its best efforts to send those individuals on the interest lists for the appropriate training so that the interest lists will consist of at least two (2) trained individuals in each classification. If members in each classification signing up for the interest list already have the required training, there will be no need to train those members not trained except at the Fire Chief’s discretion.
Hazardous Materials Team. Employees assigned to the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Hazardous Materials Team, including those assigned to Medic 25, will be required to respond to Hazardous Materials emergencies outside the city limits of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ as prescribed by the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ County Hazardous Materials Cooperative agreement between and among all jurisdictions included within this agreement. The Hazardous Materials Unit shall also respond to any hazardous materials emergency outside the above-mentioned agreement if so ordered by the Chief of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Fire Department. The City of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ agrees that any funds generated from additional agreements or contracts will be used exclusively for Hazardous Materials Team equipment and training needs.

Hazardous Materials Team. Employees who are designated and assigned by the Fire Chief to the Hazardous Materials Team shall be paid a special payment of $70.00 per bi-weekly pay period. The Hazardous Materials Team shall be defined as those employees assigned permanently to the Hazardous Materials Stations and meeting Hazardous Materials designation requirements. A special payment of $40.00 per bi-weekly pay period shall be provided to those employees who are currently baselined and meeting the Hazardous Materials designation requirements. Said payment shall cease upon completion of the exit baseline. Payment shall be provided in accordance with section 11.12.

Hazardous Materials Team. Employees who are designated and assigned by the Fire Chief to the Hazardous Materials Team shall be paid a special payment of $50.00 in FY20, in FY21 $60.00, and in FY22 $70.00 per bi-weekly pay period. The Hazardous Materials Team shall be defined as those employees assigned permanently to the Hazardous Materials Stations and meeting Hazardous Materials designation requirements. A special payment of $30.00 in FY20, in FY21 $35.00, and in FY22 $40.00 per bi-weekly pay period shall be provided to those employees who are currently baselined and meeting the Hazardous Materials designation requirements. Said payment shall cease upon completion of the exit baseline. Payment shall be provided in accordance with section 11.12.
Hazardous Materials Team. The City agrees to pay for one (1) bargaining unit member specialty pay for leadership on the Tri-County Hazardous Materials Response Team (“HMRT”). Such pay shall be equal to three and one-half percent (3.5%) of top step Firefighter pay per month starting the date the Director assigns the BC to the HMRT team. The BC shall play a leadership, liaison, and coordinator role on the team, though may elect to participate in various training required of regular team members selected from the Rank and File Unit.
Hazardous Materials Team. The Memorandum of Agreement, noted as Appendix J in the 2007 – 2011 (extended to 2013) contract, and dated 9/8/2003, is hereby amended and incorporated into the contract. HAZMAT Team Composition and Conditions for Appointment:
A. The City and the Union shall cooperate in recruiting members of the City's Fire Department who are interested in serving on the HAZMAT Team. All members who express interest shall be provided with training for certification at the HAZMAT Technician level at the minimum of one hundred and twenty (120) hours subject to scheduling based on any class size limits.
B. From the members completing the training, the Chief shall conduct interviews and select a HAZMAT Team of twenty (20) members, with five (5) on each platoon/shift. The selection criteria for team members shall include but not be limited to:
1. the individual's qualifications to perform the duties required for providing HAZMAT services;
2. the individual's interest and willingness to make a long-term commitment to serving on the HAZMAT Team. If all other factors are equal, consideration shall be given to the employees' seniority. The number of members on the HAZMAT Team, twenty (20), shall not be construed in any way to establish a minimum staffing requirement. Therefore, a Team member's request for a shift swap or leave time shall not be denied in order to maintain five (5) HAZMAT Team members on duty.
C. An employee who is selected for the HAZMAT Team must agree to serve for a period of at least four
