SPECIAL TEAMS. 1. Employees who are assigned and serve on the special teams of EOD, TSU, DIVERS, HOSTAGE NEGOTIATION TEAM, AND SEARCH AND RESCUE, shall receive a lump sum of four hundred dollars ($400) per full year of service on the team(s). Effective July 1, 2005, service on K-9, CROWD CONTROL, HONOR GUARD, ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION AND PEER SUPPORT teams shall also earn such compensation. An employee serving on more than one (1) team shall be eligible for only one (1) such payment.
2. As of September 1, 2001, each employee assigned to serve on the special teams shall receive a prorated share of the four hundred dollar ($400) special team(s) allowance based on the number of complete pay periods served on the team(s) since assignment to the team(s) or since s/he last received the special team allowance, whichever is less. As of September 1, 2002 and thereafter, the special team allowance payment will be made for employees assigned to the team(s) prorated accordingly for the amount of time served on the team(s) since the previous September 1st. Proration shall be calculated on the number of complete pay periods served. Prorated payment of the special team allowance shall also be made to assigned members who terminate employment with the Vermont State Police or who leave the team before the September 1st payment is made.

Non-Management employees who are assigned and serve on Department of Public Safety Special Teams for which compensation to members is provided by Article 55 of the State Police collective bargaining agreement shall receive the same compensation for such service as is provided in Article 55, subject to the same terms and conditions established in Article 55.

Any employee who meets the current certification guidelines set forth by the Fire Chief and is specifically assigned to a Special Team on a scheduled shift shall receive $60.00 per payroll period in addition to the current base rate of pay. Bargaining unit members who meet the current certification guidelines set forth by the Fire Chief and are assigned as team leaders shall not receive the Special Team pay as described above, but shall instead receive $70.00 per payroll period in addition to the current base rate of pay. Special Team training and assignments shall be made at the discretion of the Fire Chief or his/her designee and Special Team Pay will be provided to a maximum number of employees as follows: Dive Team - 6 per shift plus one team leader Technical Rescue Team- 8 per shift plus one team leader Emergency Response (SWAT) Team-4 per shift plus one team leader Employees may participate on more than one Special Team but shall be eligible to be compensated for up to two Special Teams only. Additional employees may be permitted to participate in the training process only based on availability of funds. The department shall provide the initial issue of clothing and equipment particular to Special Teams and the replacement of clothing (shirt, pants, coat, and jumpsuit) will be the responsibility of the employee through the use of the annual Personal Resource Allowance. As of September 1, 2001, each Lieutenant assigned to serve on the special team(s) shall receive a prorated share of the $400 special team(s) allowance based on the number of complete pay periods served on the team(s) since assignment to the team(s) or since s/he last received the special team allowance, whichever is less. As of September 1, 2002 and thereafter, the special team allowance payment will be made for employees assigned to the team(s) prorated accordingly for the amount of time served on the team(s) since the previous September 1st. Proration shall be calculated on the number of complete pay periods served. Prorated payment of the special team allowance shall also be made to assigned members who terminate employment with the Vermont State Police or who leave the team before the September 1st payment is made.
SPECIAL TEAMS.
14.1 Bargaining unit members who are current members of the Hazardous Materials Team and who have completed all four (4) weeks of Hazardous Materials Technician training, or the equivalent, will receive a dollar adjustment equivalent to five and one half percent (5.5%) of top step Firefighter.
14.2 Bargaining unit members who are current members of the Confined Space Team (CST) will receive a dollar adjustment equivalent to one and one-half percent (1 ½ %) of top step Firefighter at all times when working at any designated CST Company. Current CST members who are not assigned to a designated CST Company and who are activated will receive one and one-half percent (1 ½ %) of top step Firefighter while in this capacity rounded to the nearest hour with a four (4) hour minimum. Staffing for Confined Space Team (CST) stations shall follow the ELOG Roster Staffing manual.
14.3 Bargaining unit members who are current members of the Water Rescue Team (WRT) will receive a dollar adjustment equivalent to one and one-half percent (1 ½%) of top step Firefighter at all times when working at any designated WRT Company. Current WRT members who are not assigned to a designated WRT Company and who are activated will receive one and one-half percent (1 ½ %) of top step Firefighter while in this capacity rounded to the nearest hour with a four (4) hour minimum. Staffing for Water Rescue Team (WRT) stations shall follow the ELOG Roster Staffing manual.
14.4 Employees must meet the following requirements to receive special team pay:
a) An employee may continue on a team after the required time period if he/she requests to and it is approved by the team supervisor.
b) Employees on special teams must participate in any mandatory training and associated drills, unless on approved leave or excused by the team supervisor.
c) Employees must meet all the performance standards established for the special team.
d) An employee on a special team is expected to respond to calls unless he/she is on approved leave or has another legitimate reason for not doing so.
e) Employees must be eligible and available for calls and must be meeting the requirements of the assignment to receive any designated assignment pay.
14.5 The Department reserves the right to remove someone from a team at any time.
14.6 A special team member has the right to remove him/herself from a team after four (4) years of active service on the team, unless an exception is granted by the Department allowing the member to r...
SPECIAL TEAMS. 1. The FBI will not permit the practice of voting for membership on SWAT1 and HRT2 teams by the existing team members.
2. The selection of SWAT team members will Be made by the Field Office career board with final approval by the SAC.
3. Selection for membership on the HRT will be made by the FBIHQ ▇▇▇▇▇ board after consideration of the recommendation of the official in charge of the HRT.
4. Within six months of the effective date of this agreement, the FBI will develop and use, to the greatest extent possible, objective criteria for selection to SWAT and HRT. The FBI will provide 1 SWAT is an acronym for Special Weapons and Tactics.
SPECIAL TEAMS. Members of the Bargaining Unit shall be allowed to participate in special teams such as the MABAS Division 25 Technical Rescue Team, MABAS Division 25 Hazardous Materials Response Team, MABAS Urban Search and Rescue Team, etc. so long as it does not create additional pay that the City of LaSalle is liable for or interfere with the operations of the LaSalle Fire Department including inability to backfill the position of the affected member. While participating in these teams, the employee shall be covered under ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇’▇ compensation and Illinois pension statutes so long as the Chief is notified. If the City of LaSalle receives compensation from the State of Illinois or the federal government, the employee shall be limited to that compensation.
SPECIAL TEAMS. 43.1 All employees that participate in special teams, Downriver Mutual Aid (DMA) or otherwise, shall be compensated at 1 ½ times their prevailing hourly rate of pay for participation in these extra duties while not on duty and shall not be forced to participate if members choose not to do so. DMA members who are on duty shall be granted release time for these activities without loss of benefits. Special teams shall be defined as any DMA assistance with regard to Hazardous Materials, Fire Investigation, Dive, Logistics, and any other special team that is provided by the DMA pact or as created by the Employer. Additionally, this shall apply to any extra duties performed to assist the Fire Chief, such as HEMS or EMS administration assistance, training officers, or any other extra duties above and beyond regular firefighting and EMS duties.
