Insulating Glass Unit. This warranty is for failure of the hermetic seal only, and covers the formation of water and/or dust on protected surfaces of the glass. Glass breakage of any kind is not covered. This warranty covers the replacement only of the defective insulating glass unit, FOB Alpen’s nearest manufacturing plant. Labor costs for replacement or removal of insulating glass units are not covered by this warranty.

Insulating Glass Unit. The sealed glass component is warranted to be free of defects that result in material obstruction of vision or film formation caused by dust or moisture in the dead air space of a sealed unit, for the applicable period of time specified in the table above. Stress Cracks Stress cracks in glass panels outside of PGT’s Glass Policy guidelines or resulting from natural settlement or extreme thermal changes between inside and outside temperatures are not considered defects in materials and/or workmanship. Transferability This limited lifetime warranty is transferable to subsequent owner(s) as specified herein provided PGT receives notice of transfer of title of the registered property within thirty (30) days after the date of ownership transfer, and provided such notice is accompanied by a copy of this Warranty and the order number for no additional fee. If this limited warranty has not already expired or been voided for other reasons, it will be extended to the subsequent owner for ten (10) years from the date PGT delivers product to our customer’s specified location, subject to the conditions, exclusions and limitations described elsewhere in this limited warranty.

In cases such as swimming pool enclosures, the warranty against failure of the hermetic seal will be for a period of one (1) year. Glass breakage is not covered. This warranty covers the replacement only of the defective insulating Glass Unit, F.O.B. Alpen Plant. Labor costs are not covered. Proper Care and Maintenance Please carefully follow all care and maintenance instructions for Alpen Window Products. Failure to do so may limit your coverage under this warranty. Original purchaser is responsible for routine maintenance, service and cleaning of the Alpen Window Products. Salt and other corrosive or abrasive materials must not build up on any surfaces of the window or hardware. All surfaces of the window should be cleaned with a mild detergent soap and water regularly to remove any excess salt, corrosion or abrasive materials that may accumulate on the window. Hardware should also be regularly inspected, cleaned and lubricated. All gaskets should be periodically inspected for abnormal weathering and deterioration. The environment within two miles of the seacoast can be extremely corrosive and all warranty periods in this warranty for Alpen Window Products utilizing operable frames are applicable only if such Alpen Window Products utilize stainless steel hardware where it is available; however, it is the Buyer’s sole responsibility to specify stainless steel hardware components for this limited warranty to be applicable. Even with the appropriate maintenance as described above, products installed within 2 miles of seacoast environment will typically deteriorate more quickly than products installed in a less severe environment. Some corrosion and/or deterioration is considered “normal wear” in this seacoast environment. This Warranty does not apply to any products that are installed in a Covered Building that has a non- drainable EIFS or DEGs siding product. For Coastal Hardware products installed in a single family residence, PGT warrants the moving parts for a period of ten (10) years following shipment that the mechan- ical operation of hardware components will be free from material defect (installation excluded). For products installed in non-single family residential applications, PGT warrants that for a period of three (3) years following shipment that the mechanical operation of moving parts will be free from material defect (installation excluded). ). For Coastal Hardware products installed in a non-single family residence, PGT warrants the moving parts for a period of seven (7) years following shipment that the mechanical operation of hardware components will be free from material defect (installation excluded).
