Length of Suspension. 44. The specific circumstances of each case must be considered to assess whether the length of a suspension is proportionate to the seriousness of the misconduct. As can be seen from the decisions in the 1990s era, the sanctions in cases that included sexual intercourse with patients ranged from three months to nine months, depending on the facts of each case.
