MEETING PLACE. The County, at the Association’s request, shall reasonably make available conference rooms and other meeting areas for the purpose of holding Association meetings during off-duty time periods provided space can be made available without interfering with County needs. The Association shall provide timely advance notice (72 hours) of such meetings. The Association also agrees to pay any additional cost of security, supervision, damage, and cleanup and shall comply with County regulations for assignment and use of such facilities.

Should the desired conference room or other meeting area be unavailable at the requested time prior to the meeting taking place, the County will make a reasonable effort to notify the Union as soon as practicable, and the Union shall work with the County’s designated representative to find alternative times and/or comparable locations for the requested meetings. Conference Rooms and meeting areas may only be reserved for dates no further than two weeks into the future. The Union also agrees to pay any documented additional costs of security, supervision, damage and cleanup, and shall comply with County regulations for assignment and use of such facilities.

MEETING PLACE. All meetings or hearings or other proceedings over which the parties have control shall be held in the Sheriff’s complex in Kane County, Illinois, unless there is a reasonable basis to hold such meetings, hearings or other proceedings elsewhere.

Meeting Topics The Committee will discuss only those topics which are district wide issues. Individual and/or department issues will not be accepted for placement on the agenda. The following are illustrative, not inclusive, of the topics which may be discussed. ● Calendar, including Association meetings ● Curriculum ● Schedule ● Staff DevelopmentCommunity Relations ● Communications ● Recognition Programs ● Contract Clarification, if mutually agreed to by the Association President and the Superintendent ● Technology ● Response to Intervention (RtI) The existence of the Discussion Committee does not prevent the formation of ad hoc, or other committees, which may from time to time be necessary. Such other committees may, in fact, be formed as a result of the action(s) of the Discussion Committee.
